Objective: To investigate the value of computerized nuclear morphometry in the differential diagnosis of cellular follicular lesions of the thyroid cytologically diagnosed on fine needle aspiration (FNA) smears.
Study Design: Sixty cases of FNA thyroid smears were cytologically diagnosed and classified as follows: 30 cases of follicular carcinoma, 20 cases of cellular hyperplastic nodules and 10 cases of follicular adenoma. Using an image analysis system, two morphometric variables, nuclear area and major axis length of the nucleus, were measured for each case.
Results: For both nuclear morphometric variables, statistical differences were found between carcinomas and hyperplastic nodules as well as between carcinomas and adenomas. No statistical differences were found between the nuclear variables in either hyperplastic nodules or adenomas.
Conclusion: The results confirm the aim of our study, to establish nuclear morphometry by computerized image analysis as an additional tool in the differential diagnosis of thyroid follicular lesions cytologically diagnosed on FNA smears.

The nitrate pollution has become an increasingly serious environmental problem worldwide, and the toxic effects of elevated nitrate levels in the environment on aquatic animals remain to be elucidated. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the mechanisms of liver injury to tadpoles after exposure to nitrate from embryonic to metamorphic climax and to assess the recovery process of liver function after cessation of exposure. In the group with continuous nitrate exposure, the livers and thyroid of tadpoles showed remarkably histological lesions, of this with structural disorganization of the hepatocytes, cellular atrophy, and fibrosis, as well as significant reduction in the follicular and colloidal area of the thyroid.

Introduction: Castleman disease is a rare lymphoproliferative disorder, subdivided into three types: unicentric Castleman disease, idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease and human herpesvirus-8 (HHV8) associated multicentric Castleman disease. The retroperitoneum comprises only 13 % of the cases.
Case Presentation: We report a case of a 36-year-old female who presented with skin lesions in a dermatology clinic.

Background: Occult papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) refers to the PTC accidentally found due to its occult lesions. Classic, as the most common subtype of PTC, is usually considered to have a low degree of malignancy and a favorable prognosis. Currently, the American Thyroid Association Management Guidelines adopted active surveillance (AS) as an alternative to immediate surgery in some low-risk PTC patients with less than 1 cm in diameter.

The prevalence of goiter, thyroid nodules, and thyroid cancers in the pediatric population has increased. In some rare cases, local conditions such as juvenile desmoid-type fibromatosis (JDTF) can mimic specific thyroid pathology, complicating the diagnostic process. A 17-year-old obese adolescent girl was admitted to the Endocrinology Department with progressive swelling on the left side of the neck, persisting for approximately one year, recently accompanied by dysphonia and inspiratory dyspnea, and ultimately diagnosed as a unilateral nodular goiter associated with compressive phenomena.

: In this single-center retrospective study, we aimed to verify the extent of duodenal follicular lymphoma (DFL) and investigate the role and clinical significance of video capsule endoscopy (VCE) in the treatment process. : We analyzed the clinical and imaging data of 40 patients diagnosed with DFL. : Imaging workup and bone marrow biopsies revealed DFL only in the gastrointestinal tract (stage I) in 22 patients and in local lymph nodes (stage II), distant lymph nodes (stage II), pancreas (stage IIE), and extranodal regions (stage IV) in 1, 3, 1, and 13 patients, respectively.
