We report a case of fat deposit pneumonia extending to the parietal pleura with a granulomatous reaction centered on the fat vaculoles. This case was complicated by an atypical and fatal mycobacterial infection caused by Mycobacterium chelonae. The severity of Mycobacterium chelonae infection in fat deposit pneumonia warrants early empirical antibiotic therapy.

Advanced genetic and nutritional strategies aimed at modulating fat deposition can significantly reduce production costs and enhance profitability in the poultry industry. Melanophilin (MLPH) is recognized as a key gene regulating pigmentation as shown by diluted hair and feather coloration in MLPH mutant animals, including avian models. However, the effects of MLPH during fat accretion have not been studied yet.

Different sheep breeds show distinct phenotypic plasticity in fat deposition in the tails. The genetic background underlying fat deposition in the tail of sheep is complex, multifactorial, and may involve allele-specific expression (ASE) mechanism to modulate allelic expression. ASE is a common phenomenon in mammals and refers to allelic imbalanced expression modified by cis-regulatory genetic variants that can be observed at heterozygous loci.

Early weaning management followed by energy supplementation can lead to metabolic alterations in the calf that exert long-term effects on the animal's health and performance. It is believed that the main molecular basis underlying these metabolic adaptations are epigenetic mechanisms that regulate, activate, or silence genes at different stages of development and/or in response to different environmental stimuli. However, little is known about postnatal metabolic programming in .

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) causes cellular senescence due to oxidative stress, endoplasmic reticulum stress, and ectopic fat deposition in the liver. Recently, dasatinib, an antitumor agent, and quercetin, a dietary supplement, were combined as a senolytic drug to eliminate senescent cells. Thus, this study aimed to examine the effects of dasatinib and quercetin administration on removing senescent cells and their therapeutic effects on MASLD in a medaka MASLD model.

This study aimed to evaluate the intake, performance, quality, and fatty acids (FA) composition of the meat of three Nigerian sheep breeds (Balami, Uda, and Yankasa) fed two different hays, Brachiaria decumbens or Digitaria smutsii. A total of sixty sheep, twenty from each breed, Balami, Uda, and Yankasa, were used, with average body weights of 24.7 ± 3.
