Splenic conservation avoids the overwhelming postsplenectomy infection. The high percentage of patients treated by noninvasive procedures would be due to the simple clinical course of splenic trauma and precision of diagnosis, using CT scan. Only clinical evaluation could provide further information on the indications for surgical treatment, as there is no available score regarding the value of CT scan for choosing the therapeutical option. Non-operative management of splenic ruptures should be considered in selected patients in whom hemodynamics is stable and closely monitored.

Introduction: Patients with clinically node-negative breast cancer have a negative sentinel lymph node status (pN0) in approximately 75% of cases and the necessity of routine surgical nodal staging by sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) has been questioned. Previous prediction models for pN0 have included postoperative variables, thus defeating their purpose to spare patients non-beneficial axillary surgery. We aimed to develop a preoperative prediction model for pN0 and to evaluate the contribution of mammographic breast density and mammogram features derived by artificial intelligence for de-escalation of SLNB.

Introduction: Acute cholecystitis occurs frequently in the elderly. According to the current recommendations specific to the characteristics of each case, these patients are most often treated by delayed cholecystectomy after medical treatment. Our study aimed to compare the success rate of this strategy in patients over and under 75years of age.

Adenocarcinoma, while constituting the predominant variant among small bowel cancers, is a component of the broader category of primary small bowel malignancies, which are notably infrequent in occurrence. The diagnosis of such malignancies is often markedly delayed, a consequence of their insidious onset and the nonspecific nature of the abdominal symptoms presented. A 69-year-old Caucasian male presented to the emergency department manifesting acute, sharp, and colicky abdominal pain accompanied by a single episode of vomiting, all developing over one day.

Background: In a subset of patients, acute myocarditis (AM) may mimic acute myocardial infarction, with a similar clinical presentation characterized by chest pain, electrocardiogram (ECG) changes consistent with acute coronary syndromes (ACS), and serum markers increment.
Case Summary: We present two cases of infarct-like myocarditis in patients with known coronary artery disease (CAD), in which the discrepancy between transthoracic echocardiogram findings, ECG, and angiography prompted us to look beyond the simplest diagnosis. In these cases, making a prompt and correct diagnosis is pivotal to address adequate therapy and establish a correct prognosis.

Rotator cuff (RC) injuries include a wide range of pathologic states. Athletes are perhaps the most susceptible to RC injuries ranging from tendinopathy to partial or full-thickness tears, due to functional overload and repetitive movements, causing abstention from sports for long periods. Regenerative medicine keeps giving us multiple choices to fight the disability caused by these pathologies.
