Breastfeeding and Lactation Medicine (BFLM) programs at academic medical centers are uncommon but expanding. Our academic medical center, with a long legacy of leadership in BFLM, established a BFLM program in 2016 and launched a dedicated division in 2022. To describe the strategy, services, measures, and challenges facing our multidisciplinary academic BFLM program in its first 8 years.

The role of the clerkship director has evolved significantly over the past century and now requires a diverse range of skills to meet the rigorous standards set by national accrediting bodies such as the Liaison Committee on Medical Education. We conducted a historical exploration, spanning the past 43 years, of the educational practices in the Neurology Department at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. We learned that no entity is responsible for documenting the history of the clerkship.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess trends in microbiology profiles and antibiotic susceptibility among pediatric infectious keratitis cases in Southern California, United States.
Methods: This is a retrospective chart review of patients aged 18 years or younger diagnosed with infectious keratitis with a positive microbiology culture between 2006 and 2019 at a tertiary academic institution. Patient demographics, microbiology results, and antibiotic susceptibilities were analyzed.

This case study presents an analysis of community-driven partnerships, focusing on the nonprofit Baltimore CONNECT (BC) network and its collaborative efforts with a Community-Engaged Research (CEnR) team of the Johns Hopkins Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR). BC has built a network of over 30 community-based organizations to provide health and social services in Baltimore City. The study emphasizes the role of CEnR in supporting community-led decision-making, specifically in the planning and implementation of community health resource fairs.
