Objective: The emergence of resistance-associated substitutions (RASs) poses a significant challenge to the effective treatment of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection using direct-acting antivirals. This study's objective was to observe the prevalence of HCV genotypes and RAS within the Former Soviet Union (FSU) countries.
Methods: We analysed 60 NS3, 313 NS5A and 1119 NS5B sequences of HCV deposited in open-access databases from 11 FSU countries for the prevalence of genotypes and the presence of RAS using the Geno2Pheno software.

The application of messenger RNA (mRNA) technology in antigen-based immuno-oncology therapies represents a significant advancement in cancer treatment. Cancer vaccines are an effective combinatorial partner to sensitize the host immune system to the tumor and boost the efficacy of immune therapies. Selecting suitable tumor antigens is the key step to devising effective vaccinations and amplifying the immune response.

Single-cell decisions made in complex environments underlie many bacterial phenomena. Image-based transcriptomics approaches offer an avenue to study such behaviors, yet these approaches have been hindered by the massive density of bacterial messenger RNA. To overcome this challenge, we combined 1000-fold volumetric expansion with multiplexed error-robust fluorescence in situ hybridization (MERFISH) to create bacterial-MERFISH.

Purpose: Regulating intraocular pressure (IOP), mainly via the trabecular meshwork (TM), is critical in developing glaucoma. Whereas current treatments aim to lower IOP, directly targeting the dysfunctional TM tissue for therapeutic intervention has proven challenging. In our study, we utilized Dexamethasone (Dex)-treated TM cells as a model to investigate how extracellular vesicles (EVs) from immortalized corneal stromal stem cells (imCSSCs) could influence ANGPTL7 and MYOC genes expression within TM cells.

Background: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) has a heterogeneous make-up of myeloid cells that influences the therapeutic response and prognosis. However, understanding the myeloid cell at both a genetic and cellular level remains a significant challenge.
Methods: Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) data were downloaded from t the Tumor Immune Single-cell Hub and gene expression data were retrieved from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database and the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database.
