We report three cases of compartment syndrome in the thigh related to drug intoxications. Compartment syndrome is an uncommon condition often diagnosed late as it may occur in unconscious patients. The typical clinical presentation begins with pain of the lower limb refractory to major antagesics. The condition then progresses with sensoromotor involvement of the sciatic nerve. Rapid onset of acute renal failure in the setting of a crush syndrome may be life-threatening with a long-term risk of major sensoromotor sequelae. Surgical treatment with aponeurotomy is required rapidly to limit sequelae.

Purpose: This study was planned to evaluate limb survival and clinical outcomes of fasciotomies done before and after 24-48 h due to compartment syndrome in the extremities caused by crush injuries after the earthquakes in Turkey on February 6-7, 2023.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 129 extremities of 84 patients that underwent fasciotomy after the 2023 Turkey earthquakes in this single center study. Demographical data of patients, affected limb, time to fasciotomy, limb survival, number of debridements, necrotic muscle debridement, whether graft-flap was needed, and the need for hemodialysis were analyzed.

Snakebites caused by snakes are the most prevalent in the Amazon region, causing local and systemic complications. Local complications are mostly represented by necrosis, secondary bacterial infection and compartment syndrome. There are reports of long-term disabilities, but their burden is poorly investigated.

Richter syndrome (RS), characterized by aggressive lymphoma arising from chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL), presents a poor response to treatment and grim prognosis. To elucidate RS mechanisms, paired samples from a patient with DLBCL-RS were subjected to single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) and high-throughput chromosome conformation capture (Hi-C) sequencing. Over 10,000 cells were profiled via scRNA-seq, revealing the comprehensive B cell transformation in RS.
