The purpose of this study was to compare the diagnostic sensitivity of unenhanced magnetic resonance (MR) imaging, and MR imaging with a new superparamagnetic iron oxide (SPIO)-enhanced contrast agent (SHU 555 A) with biphasic helical computed tomography during arterial portography (CTAP) in patients with focal liver lesions. Eighteen patients with a total of 91 (78 malignant, 13 benign) proven liver lesions underwent unenhanced short tau inversion recovery (STIR), T2-weighted (T2-w) TSE, and SHU 555 A-enhanced T2-w turbo spin-echo (TSE) MR imaging and biphasic helical CTAP. The standard of reference was histopathologic analysis of resected specimens in 59 lesions, intraoperative ultrasound with biopsy in 20 lesions, and CT-guided biopsy and follow-up in 12 lesions. Diagnostic performance of the imaging modalities was compared quantitatively and qualitatively by assessing lesion involvement in liver segments. There were 68 lesions detected on unenhanced T2-w TSE, which resulted in a sensitivity of 75%. With the STIR sequence, 76 lesions were detected, for a sensitivity of 84%, and with SHU 555 A-enhanced MRI, 84 lesions were detected, for a sensitivity of 92%. CTAP detected 88 lesions, for a sensitivity of 97%. The accuracy for unenhanced T2-w TSE was 98%, for STIR 99%, for enhanced-MRI 100%, and for CTAP 95%. The specificity was 100% for SHU 555 A-enhanced MRI and 95% for CTAP. SHU 555 A-enhanced MRI was superior to nonenhanced MRI (P < 0.05) and equivalent to CTAP in terms of sensitivity. Due to the absence of false-positive results on SHU 555 A-enhanced MRI, the specificity and accuracy of enhanced MRI were higher than those of CTAP, but the difference was not statistically significant (P = 0.134).

Al-Mg alloys are widely used as important engineering structural materials in aerospace engineering, transportation systems, and structural constructions due to their low density, high specific strength, corrosion resistance, welding capability, fatigue strength, and cost-effectiveness. However, the conventional Al-Mg alloys can no longer fully satisfy the demands of practical production due to difficulties caused by many defects. The high strength of Al-Mg alloys as non-heat treatment precipitation-strengthened alloys is achieved primarily by solid solution strengthening along with work hardening rather than precipitation strengthening.

This paper proposes a novel censored autoregressive conditional Fréchet (CAcF) model with a flexible evolution scheme for the time-varying parameters, which allows deciphering tail risk dynamics constrained by price limits from the viewpoints of different risk preferences. The proposed model can well accommodate many important empirical characteristics of financial data, such as heavy-tailedness, volatility clustering, extreme event clustering, and price limits. We then investigate tail risk dynamics via the CAcF model in the price-limited stock markets, taking entropic value at risk (EVaR) as a risk measurement.

Background: This study aimed to describe the status of antithrombotic therapy at discharge and prognosis in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) and chronic coronary syndrome (CCS) who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
Methods: This was an observational, prospective study. The primary endpoint was major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE), including all-cause death, myocardial infarction, stroke/transient ischemic attach (TIA), systemic embolism or ischemia-driven revascularization.

Background: Post-endoscopic submucosal dissection electrocoagulation syndrome (PEECS) is an uncommon complication after colorectal endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). This study aimed to explore the risk factors of PEECS for superficial colorectal lesions based on the latest and consistent diagnostic criteria and to establish a predictive nomogram model.
Methods: This retrospective analysis included patients with superficial colorectal lesions who underwent endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) between June 2008 and December 2021 in our center.
Background: Comprehensive blood lipoprotein profiles and their association with incident coronary heart disease (CHD) among racially and geographically diverse populations remain understudied.
Methods And Results: We conducted nested case-control studies of CHD among 3438 individuals (1719 pairs), including 1084 White Americans (542 pairs), 1244 Black Americans (622 pairs), and 1110 Chinese adults (555 pairs). We examined 36 plasma lipids, lipoproteins, and apolipoproteins, measured by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, with incident CHD among all participants and subgroups by demographics, lifestyle, and metabolic health status using conditional or unconditional logistic regression adjusted for potential confounders.
