Drugs are able to activate the immune system, which may generate hypersensitivity states in individuals. This article first deals with the critical processes that are involved in drug sensitizations: what are the specific features of drugs as immunogens; how are drugs recognized as non-self by activated immune cells; what is the spontaneous outcome of an immune response to drugs in individuals; does a genetic predisposition regulate the immune response to drug antigens; how much are biotransformation processes involved in the immunogenicity of drugs? The second part is mostly devoted to the biological investigation of drug sensitizations: what are we looking for and why; are all the available methods equally suitable for routine diagnosis; what are the major methological problems that we have to deal with in investigating patients who have presented with symptoms which are clinically suspected to be of immuno-allergic origin?

The rising incidence of pancreatic diseases, including acute and chronic pancreatitis and various pancreatic neoplasms, poses a significant global health challenge. Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) for example, has a high mortality rate due to late-stage diagnosis and its inaccessible location. Advances in imaging technologies, though improving diagnostic capabilities, still necessitate biopsy confirmation.

Copper is an essential micronutrient in the human body, mainly acting as a crucial cofactor required for a wide range of physiological processes across nearly all cell types. Recent advances revealed that tumor cells seize copper to fulfill their rapid proliferation, metastasis, immune evasion, and so on by reprogramming the copper regulatory network, defined as cuproplasia. Thus, targeting copper chelation to reduce copper levels has been considered a rational tumor therapy strategy.

Aim: To implement and evaluate an Advanced Practice Nurse-led transitional care model (AdvantAGE) to reduce rehospitalisation rates in frail older adults discharged from a Swiss geriatric hospital.

Design: The study adopts an effectiveness-implementation hybrid design (Type 1) to simultaneously evaluate the effectiveness of the care model and explore the implementation process.

Methods: The primary outcome, the 90-day rehospitalisation rate, will be evaluated using a matched-cohort design with a prospective intervention group and a retrospective control group.

Aims: To evaluate the implementation process of a novel program focused on improving interactive (dialogic) feedback between clinicians and students during placement.

Design: Quantitative cross-sectional hybrid type 3 effectiveness-implementation study driven by a federated model of social learning theory and implementation theory.

Methods: From June to November 2018, feedback approaches supported by socio-constructive learning theory and Normalisation Process Theory were enacted in four clinical units of a healthcare facility in southeast Queensland, Australia.

Objective: This study aimed to explore the perspectives of healthcare professionals on the utility of sick day management plans for people with chronic kidney disease (CKD) in remote communities and collaboratively design a sick day management plan resource.

Design: This qualitative study utilised two phases of data collection: preliminary observational data and semi-structured interviews. The research design and analysis were guided by the normalisation process theory (NPT) framework, tailored for complex interventions in healthcare.
