The authors present their experience in late infection of aortoilliacofemoral reconstruction by means of the Dacron vascular prosthesis. They found such complication in 8 of 620 (1.5%) reconstructions in that region in period 1988-1998. There is essential position of scintigraphy (Le 99mTc-HMPAO) and CT in diagnostic of location and extent of an affection. Conservative approach and local surgery were not permanently successful. The alternative approach is radical removing of the whole graft. The alternative of aortofemoral reconstruction is axillobifemoral bypass using ePTFE graft in case of an infection of the bifurcation graft.

Background/purpose: Osseointegration potential is greatly depended on the interaction between bone cells and dental implant surface. Since zirconia ceramic has a bioinert surface, functionalization of the surface with an organic compound allylamine was conducted to overcome its drawback of minimal interaction with the surrounding bone.
Materials And Methods: The zirconia surface was initially treated with argon glow discharge plasma (GDP), then combined with amine plasma at three different conditions of 50-W, 75-W and 85-W, to prepare the final samples.

Background: One of the most serious complications of coronary artery stenting is restenosis and in-stent thrombosis; their prevalence can reach 20-25%. Stent thrombosis can be acute (up to 24 hours), subacute (24 hours to 30 days), late (30 days to 1 year), and very late (> 1 year after previous stenting). In the patients with COVID-19 in intensive care units, the proportion of those with elevated troponin levels reached 25%.

SARS-CoV-2, which originated in China in late 2019, quickly fueled the global COVID-19 pandemic, profoundly impacting health and the economy worldwide. A series of vaccines, mostly based on the full SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein, were rapidly developed, showing excellent humoral and cellular responses and high efficacy against both symptomatic infection and severe disease. However, viral evolution and the waning humoral neutralizing responses strongly challenged vaccine long term effectiveness, mainly against symptomatic infection, making necessary a strategy of repeated and updated booster shots.
