The sensing device used is based on a porous Pt electrode, which is supported on an ion-exchange membrane and directly exposed to the gas phase. Under acid conditions, ethylene oxide was found to be oxidized on the platinum oxide surface at +550 mV vs MSE, thus enabling its monitoring via the measurement of the associated current. A detection limit of 15 ppb was obtained, based on a signal-to-noise ratio of three, and a linear dynamic range was found up to 100 ppm. The effects of mass transport, humidity, and oxygen on the cell response, as well as the cross sensitivity to other organic vapors and inorganic gases are discussed.

NO is a toxic gas that can damage the lungs with prolonged exposure and contribute to health conditions, such as asthma in children. Detecting NO is therefore crucial for maintaining a healthy environment. Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are promising materials for NO gas sensors due to their excellent electronic properties and high adsorption energy for NO molecules.

The development of quasi-solid-state lithium metal batteries (QSSLMBs) is hindered by inadequate interfacial contact, poor wettability between electrodes and quasi-solid-state electrolytes, and significant volume changes during long-term cycling, leading to safety risks and cataclysmic failures. Here, we report an innovative approach to enhance interfacial properties through the construction of QSSLMBs. A multilayer design integrates a microwave-synthesized LiAlTi(PO) (LATP) ceramic electrolyte, which is surface-coated with a lithiophilic conductive ink comprising VS and disulfonated functionalized graphene nanosheets (VS-DSGNS) using a low-cost nail-polish binder.

Postsurgical adhesions are a common complication associated with surgical procedures; they not only impact the patient's well-being but also impose a financial burden due to medical expenses required for reoperative surgeries or adhesiolysis. Adhesions can range from a filmy, fibrinous, or fibrous vascular band to a cohesive attachment, and they can form in diverse anatomical locations such as the peritoneum, pericardium, endometrium, tendons, synovium, and epidural and pleural spaces. Numerous strategies have been explored to minimize the occurrence of postsurgical adhesions.

Facilitated transport membranes (FTMs) with an ultraselective layer prepared from amine-rich polyvinylamine (PVAm)/2-(1-piperazinyl)ethylamine salt of sarcosine (PZEA-Sar) (denoted by PM) and an amorphous dendritic cross-linked network of PVAm-functionalized poly(ethylene glycol)diglycidyl ether (PEGDGE) (named PP) were designed for CO separations. The developed membranes expedited CO transport over N through the synergistic effect from the induced CO-philic ethylene oxide groups and highly hydrophilic and polar hydroxyl groups together with the low-crystallinity PP networks, which offer a high diffusion rate for CO-amine complexes through the membrane and stabilize small molecular mobile carriers via hydrogen bonding. The best (PM/PP-10)/polysulfone (PSf) composite membranes achieved a superior CO/N selectivity of 230 (4.

Cold stress is an environmental factor that seriously restricts the growth, production and survival of plants, and has received extensive attention in recent years. Hydrogen sulfide (HS) is an ubiquitous gas signaling molecule, and its role in alleviating plant cold stress has become a research focus in recent years. This paper reviews for the first time the significant effect of HS on improving plant cold resistance, which makes up for the gaps in the existing literature.
