Rainfall prediction is a crucial aspect of climate science, particularly in monsoon-influenced regions where accurate forecasts are essential. This study evaluates rainfall prediction models in the Eastern Thailand by examining an optimal lag time associated with the Oceanic Niño Index (ONI). Five deep learning models-RNN with ReLU, LSTM, GRU (single-layer), LSTM+LSTM, and LSTM+GRU (multi-layer)-were compared using mean absolute error (MAE) and root mean square error (RMSE).

Stress on the Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) can severely disrupt cellular function by impairing protein folding and post-translational modifications, thereby leading to the accumulation of poor-quality proteins. However, research on its impact on photosynthesis remains limited. In this study, we investigated the impact of ER stress on the photosynthetic efficiency of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii using pharmacological inducers, tunicamycin (TM) and brefeldin A (BFA), which specifically target the ER.

Aftershocks can cause additional damage or even lead to the collapse of structures already weakened by a mainshock. Scarcity of in-situ recorded aftershock accelerograms heightens the need to develop synthetic aftershock ground motions. These synthesized motions are crucial for assessing the cumulative seismic demand on structures subjected to mainshock-aftershock sequences.

With careful design and integration, microring resonators can serve as a promising foundation for developing compact and scalable sources of non-classical light for quantum information processing. However, the current design flow is hindered by computational challenges and a complex, high-dimensional parameter space with interdependent variables. In this work, we present a knowledge-integrated machine learning framework based on Bayesian Optimization for designing squeezed light sources using microring resonators.

Graph neural networks (GNNs) have emerged as a prominent approach for capturing graph topology and modeling vertex-to-vertex relationships. They have been widely used in pattern recognition tasks including node and graph label prediction. However, when dealing with graphs from non-Euclidean domains, the relationships, and interdependencies between objects become more complex.
