Ery-DPG and thus the oxygen-releasing capacity of haemoglobin increases in meylomatosis and in chronic myelocytic and lymphocytic leukaemia at decreased concentrations of haemoglobin, to the same extent as in other types of anaemia. Consequently the need for blood transfusions is less than assumed in these disorders. Ery-ATP is considerably increased in chronic myelocytic leukaemia, the values correlating positively with the 'activity' of the disease. This finding can probably be used for diagnostic and prognostic purposes.

The present study was aimed at revealing the metabolic changes that occurred in the cellular lipid pattern of acute and chronic myeloid leukaemia cells following treatment with cannabidiol (CBD). CBD is a non-psychoactive compound present in Cannabis sativa L., which has shown an antiproliferative action in these type of cancer cells.

Benzene is a crucial industrial hydrocarbon, posing significant health risks due to its toxic metabolites like hydroquinone (HQ). This study investigates the role of clusterin (CLU) in benzene toxicity by analyzing its protein and mRNA levels, as well as the expression of Bcl-2 and Bax, to evaluate the feasibility of CLU as a biomarker for chronic benzene poisoning. HL-60 cells were induced to differentiate into neutrophil-like cells using 1% Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO).

Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) typically presents in the chronic phase. The blast crisis phase in CML predominantly comprises the myeloid phenotype, while B-cell lymphoblastic crisis is common among the lymphoid lineages. Presentation as a T-lymphoblastic crisis is exceptionally rare.

Severe congenital neutropenia (SCN) is frequently associated with dominant point mutations in ELANE, the gene encoding neutrophil elastase (NE). Chronic administration of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) is a first-line treatment of ELANE-mutant (ELANEmut) SCN. However, some ELANEmut patients, including patients with ELANE start codon mutations, do not respond to G-CSF.

Background: Prior research suggests a potential link between ABO blood types and susceptibility to various malignancies. The correlation between ABO blood types and hematological myeloid neoplasms, however, remains inadequately explored.

Objective: This study investigates the association between ABO blood groups and the incidence of hematological myeloid neoplasms in adolescents and adults.
