Background: Amiodarone is a widely used antiarrhythmic agent with significant toxicities and drug interactions more likely to affect older adults. Nevertheless, data regarding amiodarone safety in this population are limited.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) data from 2003 to 2024 .

A 73-year-old man with atrial fibrillation and coronary disease requiring stenting to the right coronary artery 7 months prior was admitted for observation after taking an extra dofetilide dose. Troponins trended upward, and electrocardiogram demonstrated QT prolongation to 502 ms as well as T-wave inversions. The patient underwent cardiac catheterization, which revealed severe distal left main disease.

Cardiac digital twins are computational tools capturing key functional and anatomical characteristics of patient hearts for investigating disease phenotypes and predicting responses to therapy. When paired with large-scale computational resources and large clinical datasets, digital twin technology can enable virtual clinical trials on virtual cohorts to fast-track therapy development. Here, we present an open-source automated pipeline for personalising ventricular electrophysiological function based on routinely acquired magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data and the standard 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG).

Background: Heart failure (HF) with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) is a risk factor for drug-induced arrhythmias. It is unknown whether HF with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) also increases the risk.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine if the risk of ventricular tachycardia (VT) and sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is increased in patients with HFpEF prescribed dofetilide or sotalol.
