[reaction: see text] The high-yielding synthesis and application of the first example of a polymer-supported reagent for the preparation of trifluoromethanesulfonates (triflates) is described. This new reagent efficiently triflates aryl alcohols and lithium enolates in high yield (>90%). A simple precipitation and filtration to remove the excess reagent and byproduct facilitate purification of the triflate products. The PEG-supported approach is highly efficient, as the PEG-supported byproduct can be quantitatively recovered and recycled into reagent 1.

Investigating the significance of SPECT/CT-SUV for monitoring Lu-PSMA-targeted radionuclide therapy: a systematic review.

Background: Quantitative molecular imaging via single-photon emission computed tomography-derived standardised uptake value (SPECT/CT-SUV) is used to assess the response of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) patients to targeted radionuclide therapy (TRT) with [Lu]Lu-PSMA. This imaging technique determines the radiopharmaceutical distribution and internal dosimetry in patients who receive TRT. However, there is limited evidence regarding the role of image quantification in monitoring changes induced by [Lu]Lu-PSMA.

A ratiometric fluorescent nanoprobe (CDs-Rho), synthesized through the simple covalent amide linkage between carbon dots (CDs) and pH-sensitive rhodamine dye (Rho), was designed for the precise sensing and imaging of extremely alkaline environments. The sensing mechanism involves the opposite pH-dependent fluorescence changes in CDs and Rho, respectively, coupled with pH-regulated FRET efficiency from CDs to Rho. The nanoprobe features a wide pH response window from pH 7.

The link between sleep bruxism and oxidative stress based on a polysomnographic study.

Sci Rep

Clinical Department of Diabetology, Hypertension and Internal Diseases, Institute of Internal Diseases, Wroclaw Medical University, 213 Borowska St, Wroclaw, 50-556, Poland.

Oxidative stress is proven to increase cardiovascular risk and to diminish healthy life expectancy. Sleep bruxism (SB) is a prevalent masticatory muscle activity during sleep characterized by heterogeneous etiology and inadequately recognized pathophysiology. Recent theories have proposed a potential association between SB and oxidative stress.

We aimed to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of screening for sexually transmitted infections (STI), Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Mycoplasma genitalium, and Trichomonas vaginalis in patients with suspected urinary tract infection (UTI) but negative urine cultures, using a pooled sampling method. A cohort of 200 patients was analyzed. A decision tree model based on cost-effectiveness was used to evaluate the following five diagnostic strategies: (A) no screening;(B) screening only men;(C) screening only women;(D) screening men and women with high leukocyte counts (>70cells/µL);(E) screening all men and women.
