Background: Psychostimulants and nonstimulants have partially overlapping pharmacological targets on attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), but whether their neuroimaging underpinnings differ is elusive. We aimed to identify overlapping and medication-specific brain functional mechanisms of psychostimulants and nonstimulants on ADHD.
Methods: After a systematic literature search and database construction, the imputed maps of separate and pooled neuropharmacological mechanisms were meta-analyzed by Seed-based Mapping toolbox, followed by large-scale network analysis to uncover potential coactivation patterns and meta-regression analysis to examine the modulatory effects of age and sex.

Mimosa tenuiflora ("jurema-preta") is traditionally used in folk medicine for various diseases. The study investigated the neuropharmacological potential of Mimosa tenuiflora bark fraction (FATEM) in adult zebrafish. This included the acute toxicity (LC50) of FATEM (0.

This review aims to assess the existing studies on propofol, a relatively new intravenous anesthetic, related to its abuse and addictive potential and to explain the neurobiological and neuropharmacological aspects of propofol addiction. Several neurobiological factors related to complex processes in the brain influence propofol abuse and addiction. In this review, we assessed the literature regarding propofol abuse and addiction, including both experimental and clinical studies.

Monoterpene indole alkaloids (MIAs) are valuable metabolites produced in numerous medicinal plants from the Apocynaceae family such as Alstonia scholaris, which synthesizes strictamine, a MIA displaying neuropharmacological properties of a potential importance. To get insights into the MIA metabolism in A. scholaris, we studied here both the spatial and transcriptional regulations of MIA genes by performing a robust transcriptomics analysis of the main plant organs, leaf epidermis but also by sequencing RNA from leaves transiently overexpressing the master transcriptional regulator MYC2.
