Introduction: Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) oncology meetings foster collaboration among healthcare practitioners to determine the most appropriate course of action for cancer patient care. Defining what is 'best' for a patient is complex, involving clinical guidelines, patient needs, evidence-based practices, and available treatment options. Patient participation offers unique insights into cultural and psycho-social preferences, shifting away from the paternalistic health care model.

Background: Biomarkers that predict disease activity and prognosis should be established for neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD). In this study, we investigated the association between complement factors and the prognosis of NMOSD.
Methods: We validated laboratory parameters as potential prognostic factors in 34 patients with NMOSD (31 females and 3 males) whose serum was collected at the time of recurrence and who were subsequently followed-up for 3 years without the use of biologics.

Previous studies have shown that astrocyte activation in the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC), accompanied by upregulation of the astrocyte marker S100 calcium binding protein B (S100B), contributes to comorbid anxiety in chronic inflammatory pain (CIP), but the exact downstream mechanism is still being explored. The receptor for advanced glycation end-products (RAGE) plays an important role in chronic pain and psychosis by recognizing ligands, including S100B. Therefore, we speculate that RAGE may be involved in astrocyte regulation of the comorbidity between CIP and anxiety by recognizing S100B.

Purpose: The clinical prognostic value of monitoring minimal residual disease (MRD) in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients undergoing nonintensive treatment remains insufficiently established. The aim of this work was to examine MRD status at various time points, highlighting the potential for pre-emptive therapy to improve patient outcomes.
Methods: Inpatient data from 2017 to 2024 were used in this retrospective study.
Purpose: Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) have risen exponentially in usage and have been shown to exert neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects across multiple organ systems. This study investigates whether GLP-1RAs influence the risk for age-related ocular diseases.
Design: Retrospective cohort study.
