Introduction: Salivary gland tumors represent only 3%-6% of all head and neck neoplasms, and approximately 70% of these tumors are located in the parotid gland. Most of these tumors are found in the more abundant superficial portion of the parotid gland, lateral to the facial nerve (FN). For many years, the location of the facial nerve between the superficial and deep segments of the parotid gland hindered adequate tumor extirpation.

Phosphorus (P)-deficient soils serve as crucial habitats for endangered plant species. Microbiomes play pivotal roles in soil element cycling and in determining a plant's adaptability to the environment. However, the relationship between the endangered plant, microbiome, and soil stoichiometric traits, and how it affects plant adaption to P-deficient habitats remain largely unexplored.

Endometrial cancer (EC) is the most common gynecologic cancer in developed nations with reported 420,368 new cases worldwide in 2022 and resulting in 97,723 deaths that year; it is also one of the few cancers with expected increases in incidence and mortality, which are expected to increase by 50% and 70%, respectively, by 2045. The mortality from EC can largely be attributed to the advanced stage and recurrent cases. Over the past decade, the standard of care for treatment of primary advanced stage and recurrent EC has been chemotherapy, resulting in a median overall survival (OS) of less than 3 years.

Objective: To describe the real-world clinical impact of a commercially available plasma cell-free DNA metagenomic next-generation sequencing assay, the Karius test (KT).
Methods: We retrospectively evaluated the clinical impact of KT by clinical panel adjudication. Descriptive statistics were used to study associations of diagnostic indications, host characteristics, and KT-generated microbiologic patterns with the clinical impact of KT.

The incidence of cervical cancer continues to rise in underdeveloped regions due to low human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination rates and inadequate screening systems. To achieve convenient, rapid, and accurate detection of HPV, we developed a three-wire lateral flow strip assay system based on dual-OR logic gates for rapid and simultaneous detection of HPV subtypes 16 and 18 in a single test. The system combines three-branch-catalytic hairpin assembly (TCHA)-mediated signal amplification with simple OR logic gate-based signal output to improve detection rates while enabling HPV 16/18 subtype identification.
