Hypertension and dyslipidemia are two of the most frequently co-occurring cardiovascular risk factors. The combined regimen of hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ), rosuvastatin (ROS), and losartan (LOS) helped in the successful management of both conditions. This work's objective is to develop an eco-friendly, sensitive, simple, and reliable chromatographic method for the simultaneous estimation of HCTZ, ROS, and the LOS ternary mixture in their pure form, and pharmaceutical formulations.

Providing patients with falls prevention education reduces falls in hospitals, yet there is limited research on what influences successful implementation at the staff, ward and hospital levels. We engaged hospital-based health professionals to identify multi-level barriers and enablers to patient falls education that could influence the implementation of a Safe Recovery program. Purposive sampling was used to recruit hospital staff (n = 40) for focus groups and one-on-one interviews.

Introduction: Tobacco smoking has been associated with reduced success in the labor market, potentially due to its negative impact on labor productivity, especially in physically demanding jobs, as it affects physical fitness and performance adversely.
Methods: This prospective study used data from the Cardiovascular Risk in Young Finns Study survey, linked to register information on labor market outcomes and education attainment, to examine the association between tobacco smoking and long-term labor market outcomes (earnings and employment, N = 1953). Smoking levels were determined by cigarette pack-years in 2001, as reported in the survey, whereas annual earnings and employment status were tracked from 2001 to 2019.

Background: Proficiency in endotracheal intubation (ETI) is essential for medical professionals and its training should start at medical schools; however, large caseload may be required before achieving an acceptable success rate with direct laryngoscopy. Video laryngoscopy has proven to be an easier alternative for intubation with a faster learning curve, but its availability in medical training may be an issue due to its high market prices. We devised a low-cost 3-dimensionally printed video laryngoscope (3DVL) and performed a randomized trial to evaluate if the intubation success rate on the first attempt with this device is noninferior to a standard commercially available video laryngoscope (STVL).
