Basing on the material comprising 26 patients with compound fractures of the knee joint the authors analysed the diagnostic value of sections and two-dimensional reconstructions (2D CT). It has been shown that spatial reconstructions (3D CT) localize bone fragments, their displacements and degree of torsion by visualising spatial depth. Besides, they make possible the assessment of injuries of cruciate ligaments.
