Enterosorption with highly dispersed fibrous carbon adsorbent Belosorb or enzyme-containing fibrous carbon adsorbent Panzysorb was applied for the treatment of experimental acute pancreatitis (EAP) in the rats. Panzysorb was obtained by immobilization of digestive hydrolases (proteases and amylase) on Belosorb as matrix. It was shown that oral administration of Panzysorb (100 mg/kg body weight) significantly decreased amylolytic and lipolytic activity of blood serum by the third hour after EAP induction. The course of enterosorption (ten days) with the Panzysorb led to the appearance of regeneration focuses in injured organ.

This study explores the potential use of mould biomass and waste fibres for the production of agrotextiles. First, 20 mould strains were screened for efficient mycelium growth, with optimized conditions of temperature, sources of carbon and nitrogen in the medium, and type of culture (submerged or surface). A method was developed for creating a biocomposite based on the mould mycelium, reinforced with commercial bleached softwood kraft (BSK) pulp and fibre additives (cotton, hemp).

Currently, materials with specific, strictly defined functional properties are becoming increasingly important. A promising strategy for achieving these properties involves developing methods that facilitate the formation of hierarchical porous materials that combine micro-, meso-, and macropores in their structure. Macropores facilitate effective mass transfer of substances to the meso- and micropores, where further adsorption or reaction processes can occur.

In this study, micromechanical analysis will be performed to derive explicit solutions of the macroscopic elastic moduli and thermal expansion coefficient for composite materials, where spheroidal-coated fillers are oriented randomly in the material. This analysis is carried out by combining the double inclusion method with the self-consistent method or the Mori-Tanaka theorem. Furthermore, using these solutions, explicit solutions of the macroscopic elastic moduli and thermal expansion coefficient are also derived for composite materials containing various types of coated fillers with different physical properties and shapes.

Lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries represent a promising solution for achieving high energy densities exceeding 500 Wh kg, leveraging cathode materials with theoretical energy densities up to 2600 Wh kg. These batteries are also cost-effective, abundant, and environment-friendly. In this study, an innovative approach is proposed utilizing highly oxidized single-walled carbon nanotubes (Ox-SWCNTs) as a conductive fibrous scaffold and functional interlayer in sulfur cathodes and separators, respectively, to demonstrate large-area and ultra-flexible Li-S batteries with enhanced energy density.
