A detailed comparison of the repeatability of the retention times, the peak efficiencies and the peak areas of a dozen probe compounds achieved in HPLC, using either HPLC-UV or HPLC-MS for detection purpose, is reported. Three groups of conventional analytes, each one separated under a different set of experimental conditions, were selected for this study. Most of the compounds are basic, the other ones being neutral. The repeatabilities of the retention times do not exhibit any influence of the mode of detection. However, the repeatabilities of the peak areas and the column efficiencies are generally (although not always) better in HPLC-UV than that in HPLC-MS. On average, the precision for the UV peak area detection was 2.5% versus 6.8% for MS detection. Experimental results show that the response factor of the UV detector is more constant than that of the MS detector, probably because the HPLC flow-rate was sufficiently stable. The results obtained in the different tests are discussed.

Materials And Methods: This is a retrospective, international, multi-centre, observational cohort study of patients diagnosed with MS and neurogenic OAB and treated with intradetrusor BoNT between January 2005 and January 2020 (just prior to COVID-19 interruption). Dose, efficacy, duration of effect, International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Overactive Bladder (ICIQ-OAB) and International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Urinary Incontinence (ICIQ-UI) measures and complication rates were recorded.

Although uroflowmetry and bladder diaries are widely used for noninvasive evaluation of lower urinary tract symptoms, they still have limitations in diagnostic capability and users' convenience. The aim of this paper is to discuss potential solutions by reviewing (1) the evolution and current clinical use of uroflowmetry and bladder diary, including clinical guidelines, daily practice applications, and their historical development; (2) a growing trend toward using home devices with various technologies; and (3) a comprehensive comparison of the strengths and weaknesses of these home devices. In our opinion, the following points can be highlighted: (1) the emerging trend of using home devices can enhance diagnostic capabilities through repeated measurements and the convenience of at-home testing and (2) home devices, which provide both frequency-volume and uroflowmetry information, have the potential to transform the management of lower urinary tract symptoms.
