gene polymorphisms (677C>T and 1298A>C) correlate with various types of cancer across all age groups; however, a small number of studies have included solely children and adolescents. The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to present and synthesize all the available evidence on the association between gene polymorphisms and the incidence of all types of cancer in children and adolescences. After a systematic search of all of the available data, original case-control studies involving children or adolescents with a confirmed diagnosis of any type of cancer and a molecular genetic test of gene polymorphisms were included.

Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) DNAemia remains a significant concern for transplant recipients, largely due to mutations in the viral genome that may lead to antiviral-resistant strains. Mutations in the gene are frequently associated with resistance to ganciclovir (GCV), highlighting the importance of early mutation detection to effectively manage viremia. This study aimed to optimize a Sanger sequencing protocol for analyzing GCV resistance-linked mutations in the HCMV gene from plasma samples of transplant patients treated at Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Background/objective: Theileria orientalis is a non-transforming Theileria species infecting cattle and water buffaloes. Several outbreaks of oriental theileriosis accompanied by considerable economic loss were documented in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. The major piroplasm surface protein (MPSP) gene has frequently been used to molecularly characterize T.

is an endangered tree species, and detecting its genetic diversity can reveal the mechanisms of endangerment, providing references for the conservation of genetic resources. Samples of 137 trees across seven populations within Fujian Province were collected and sequenced using double-digest restriction site-associated DNA (ddRAD-seq). A total of 3,687,189 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were identified, and 15,158 high-quality SNPs were obtained after filtering.
