Fractures about the shoulder are a frequent occurrence. The clavicle and the proximal humerus are fractured much more often than the scapula. Appropriate diagnosis of these injuries and any associated injuries is essential. The vast majority of these fractures may be treated conservatively with good functional results.

Purpose: Optimizing fracture reduction quality is key to achieve successful osteosynthesis, especially for epimetaphyseal regions such as the proximal humerus (PH), but can be challenging, partly due to the lack of a clear endpoint. We aimed to develop the prototype for a novel intraoperative C-arm-based aid to facilitate true anatomical reduction of fractures of the PH.
Methods: The proposed method designates the reduced endpoint position of fragments by superimposing the outer boundary of the premorbid bone shape on intraoperative C-arm images, taking the mirrored intact contralateral PH from the preoperative CT scan as a surrogate.

Objective: There are several conservative treatment options for adhesive capsulitis (AC), but no previous study combines hydrodilation, corticosteroid injection and joint manipulation under sedation (triple procedure), followed by daily home exercises.
Methods: Patients included were evaluated before the procedure, at 30 days, 3, 6 and 12 months after treatment in prospective cohort. The outcomes used were the ASES, UCLA, SANE, VAS scales and passive range of motion (ROM).

Objective: We aimed to assess the recent trends in the demographics of radial head and neck fractures and their management based on displacement.
Methods: TriNetX was queried for cases from 1 January 2017, through 31 December 2022. ICD diagnosis codes were used to define patient cohorts with radial head or neck fractures.

The mortality rate following proximal humerus fractures (PHFs) in elderly patients is increased, but currently, there are no medium-term studies comparing mortality following treatment with Reverse Total Shoulder Arthroplasty (RTSA) to non-surgical treatment. This retrospective study compares two groups of elderly patients (aged 75 to 95 at the time of injury) who were diagnosed with PHFs. A total of 79 patients (mean age: 83.

Background: Rich data on diverse patients and their treatments and outcomes within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems can be used to generate real world evidence. A health recommender system (HRS) framework can be applied to a decision support system application to generate data summaries for similar patients during the clinical encounter to assist physicians and patients in making evidence-based shared treatment decisions.
Objective: A human-centered design (HCD) process was used to develop a HRS for treatment decision support in orthopaedic medicine, the Informatics Consult for Individualized Treatment (I-C-IT).
