Two matings were conducted to further test the locations of the pea comb (P*), blue egg shell color (O*), and tardy feathering (T*) loci. In each mating a different chromosome rearrangement break point (R(B)) was tested against the three loci. Independent segregation was noted between the traits and the R(B) when the R(B) was on the long arm of chromosome 1. Significant linkage was noted when an R(B) on the short arm was tested against the three markers, indicating that the loci for P*, O*, and T* are on the short arm. Three blood group loci, EAD*, EAI*, and EAP*, were simultaneously tested against the short arm R(B). Independent segregation was noted in each instance, indicating that these blood group loci are not on the short arm of chromosome 1.

Objectives: It is uncertain what the effects of introducing digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) in the Dutch breast cancer screening programme would be on detection, recall, and interval cancers (ICs), while reading times are expected to increase. Therefore, an investigation into the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of DBT screening while optimising reading is required.
Materials And Methods: The Screening Tomosynthesis trial with advanced REAding Methods (STREAM) aims to include 17,275 women (age 50-72 years) eligible for breast cancer screening in the Netherlands for two biennial DBT screening rounds to determine the short-, medium-, and long-term effects and acceptability of DBT screening and identify an optimised strategy for reading DBT.

Background: Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and Excessive Daytime Sleepiness (EDS) are associated with increased Alzheimer's disease (AD) risk. Black and Hispanic subjects have a higher burden of AD, present with greater OSA symptom severity, and EDS than non-Hispanic whites. We present preliminary data supporting an innovative trial examining the impact of a novel OSA treatment paradigm on markers of (i) sleepiness related to cognition and (ii) AD progression, among Black and Hispanic subjects.

Experiments in rodents and post-mortem studies in humans with AD suggest that serotonin (5-HT) plays a role in memory, but the molecular and neural mechanisms mediating its effects are unknown.
Method: 100,000 individuals in UK Biobank were studied for the role of serotonin 2C receptor (5-HTR) in the regulation of memory.
Background: While a number of recent anti-amyloid antibodies demonstrated a robust reduction of amyloid biomarkers in clinical trials, the impact on functional improvement is much more variable. We hypothesize that this larger variability is driven by comedications, common genotype variants and underlying tau pathology.
Method: In a previously calibrated computational neuroscience model of ADAS-Cog, we implemented the effect of soluble amyloid monomers and oligomers on glutamate and nicotinic AChR neurotransmission and the effect of intracellular tau oligomers on voltage-gated Na and K+ channels and synaptic density.

Background: Sexual and gender minority (SGM) older adults experience disparities in subjective cognitive impairment when compared to heterosexuals of similar age. Yet, SGM older adults and their care partners living with dementia/memory loss face substantial barriers to accessing culturally relevant health and dementia care. To address the gap in culturally relevant interventions, we tested the efficacy of a first of its kind stigma reduction, cognitive behavioral intervention for SGM older adults living with dementia/memory loss and their care partners, Aging with Pride: Innovations in Empowerment and Action (IDEA).
