Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and laryngitis are common problems in the community. To prove a causal relationship between GERD and laryngitis, one must show the mechanism for acid-induced laryngitis, establish the frequency of association, have a gold standard for diagnosis of the condition, and show that treatment that reduces acid reduces laryngitis in double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trials. This article examines each of these components and finds that all are wanting as proof for reflux-induced laryngitis. The best approach to prove the association between GERD and laryngitis will likely lie in well-designed treatment trials.

Objective: Using rabbit models, this study simulated the laryngopharynx's response to the synergistic effects of various acidic reflux environments and pepsin to investigate the response mechanism underlying weak acid reflux and pepsin in the mucosal barrier injury of laryngopharyngeal reflux.
Methods: The rabbits were divided into six groups, and the original larynx was recorded for each group. During the study period, rabbits were sprayed with different doses of acid and pepsin solutions and monitored for hypopharyngeal mucosal transient impedance before and after modeling.
Unlabelled: Children post-tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF) repair may present with chronic respiratory and gastrointestinal symptoms that can affect quality of life.
Objective: To identify factors associated with positive findings on triple endoscopy following neonatal TEF repair.
Study Design: Case series with retrospective review of patients.

Objective: To investigate the anxiety and depression features in laryngopharyngeal reflux disease (LPRD).
Methods: A laryngologist and librarian conducted a PubMed, Scopus, and Cochrane Library systematic review related to anxiety, depression, and mental health in LPRD through the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses statements.
Results: Of the 96 identified studies, 22 publications met the inclusion criteria, accounting for 2162 patients with suspected LPRD (n = 1607), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD; n = 423), both LPRD and GERD (n = 132), and 926 healthy/asymptomatic individuals.
