Standardization of measurements for marginal fit of castings is critical. This study describes the fabrication of a device that allowed fixation of specimens on a Toolmakers microscope with identical conditions according to tri-dimensional positioning of specimens, measuring location, and seating force. The device also allows mapping of the marginal discrepancies on the entire marginal perimeter of the tooth preparation.

Specific tissue lengths or volumes in x-ray images are measured for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Measurements are used to make clinical decisions; however, the accuracy of these measurements has not been studied. In this study, based on the sources of uncertainty, an SI-traceable length standard phantom and an x-ray imaging system calibration method are proposed.

Objectives: This study aimed to quantify tooth wear in upper anterior teeth using a new CAD-CAM Laser scanning machine, tool maker microscope and conventional tooth wear index.
Methods: Fifty participants (25 males and 25 females, mean age = 25 ± 4 years) were assessed for incisal tooth wear of upper anterior teeth using Smith and Knight clinical tooth wear index (TWI) on two occasions, the study baseline and 1 year later. Stone dies for each tooth were prepared and scanned using the CAD-CAM Laser Cercon System.

Aim: The purpose of this study was to compare the in vitro micro-leakage resistance of adhesive resin materials to long-used zinc oxide-eugenol and epoxy resin sealers.
Materials And Methods: Seven materials, five test (Real Seal, Real Seal XT, Panavia F 2.0, Infinity Syringeable, GCEM) and two controls (Tubliseal, AH Plus), were evaluated for micro-leakage resistance in a bovine incisor root model, with 12 roots per material.

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of two putty-wash impression techniques on the long-term accuracy and dimensional stability of poly(vinyl siloxane) (PVS) in the gingival sulcus area.
Materials And Methods: Impressions were taken from a master cast to simulate molar crown preparation. A space around the abutment served as the gingival sulcus.

Purpose: The effects of implant angulation, impression material, and variation in width of the arch curvature on transfer models were evaluated.
Materials And Methods: Three edentulous maxillary epoxy resin models were fabricated, and six internal-connection implant analogs were placed in different locations and different angulations in each model. In the first model, implants were positioned in the canine, first premolar, and first molar regions, and all analogs were positioned parallel to each other and perpendicular to the horizontal crestal plane (parallel model).
