A microcrystalline collagen preparation and a gelatin foam were compared relative to their effects on hemostasis and healing in molar extraction sockets in cats. The agents were essentially equivalent in both hemostasis and the inflammatory response that accompanied healing. Healing was slightly retarded in comparison to that seen in untreated control sockets in a previous study. It appears likely that the inflammatory response was caused by oral contamination, which is unavoidable in this type of procedure, rather than by the agents themselves.

In anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) repair methods, the continuous enzymatic erosion of synovial fluid can impede healing and potentially lead to repair failure, as well as exacerbate articular cartilage wear, resulting in joint degeneration. Inspired by the blood clot during medial collateral ligament healing, we developed a composite scaffold comprising collagen (1 %, w/v) and polyvinyl alcohol (5 %, w/v) combined with platelet-rich plasma (PRP). The composite scaffold provides a protective barrier against synovial erosion for the ruptured ACL, while simultaneously facilitating tissue repair, thereby enhancing the efficacy of ACL repair techniques.

Sliver carp is a nutritious and abundant species in China, but its low market value stems from its thin meat, small bones and strong odor. Processing it into surimi enhances its economic value, though surimi typically has low gel strength and is prone to deterioration. Recently, three-dimensional (3D) printing has gained attention as an innovative additive manufacturing technique for personalization and process simplification requiring high-performance materials.

There were five experimental groups with three replicates each. Based on the fresh fish oil group (FO), equal amounts of oxidized fish oil (with a thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances value of 49.

Skin injuries are one of the most common clinical traumas worldwide, and wound dressings are considered to be one of key factors in wound healing. Natural polymer-based hydrogels have been developed as ideal materials for a new generation of dressings due to their excellent biocompatibility and wetting ability. However, the inadequate mechanical performances and lack of efficacy in promoting wound healing have limited the application of natural polymer-based hydrogels as wound dressings.

Introduction: Intratumoral injections of novel therapeutics can activate tumor antigen-specific T cells for locoregional tumor control and may even induce durable systemic protection (against distant metastases) via recirculating T cells. Here we explored the possibility of a universal immunotherapy that promotes T-cell responses in situ and beyond, upon intratumoral injection of nanoparticles formulated with micron-sized crystals.
Methods: Cucumber mosaic virus-like particles containing a tetanus toxin peptide (CuMV) were formulated with microcrystalline tyrosine (MCT) adjuvant and injected directly in B16F10 melanoma tumors.
