The relative INAA method under statistical control was used to measure the concentrations of Sb, La, Eu, Co, Rb, Tb, Cs, Hf, Th, Cr, Lu, Yb, Ce, Sm, Gd, Nd. Rare earth element (REE) Chondrite-normalized patterns are presented. The La(cond)/Lu(cond) normalized concentration ratios obtained confirm the carbonaceous character of the rocks.

This study investigates the quantities of Rare Earth Elements (REEs) and Potentially Toxic Elements (PTEs) in Dong Nai Province's surface soils. Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS) and Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis (INAA) were used to determine element concentrations. To validate the concentration results, established reference materials (NIST 2711 and IAEA Soil-7) were used.

Glass fragments (16 green glasses and 2 red glasses) were handpicked from crushed Trinitite. X-ray diffraction studies revealed that these samples were essentially pure glass with the exception of minor amounts (less than 4 wt%) of quartz (which acts as a diluent) in some samples. The concentrations of 45 elements in the Trinity glasses were determined using Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis.

The electrical control of perpendicular magnetization without the need for external magnetic fields holds significant potential for next-generation spintronic devices. In this Letter, we have identified a 3m-symmetry dependent field-free switching phenomenon in (111)-oriented Tm_{3}Fe_{5}O_{12} single-crystal films capped with a platinum (Pt) layer. We demonstrate that this distinctive property arises due to the spontaneous breaking of mirror symmetry in magnetocrystalline anisotropy (MCA) for (111)-oriented magnetic films with a cubic structure, which results in a local out-of-plane MCA effective field with a 3m-symmetry dependence on the azimuth angle when the magnetization lies in the (111) plane.

As the drive towards recycling electronic waste increases, demand for rapid and reliable analytical methodology to analyse the metal content of the waste is increasing, e.g. to assess the value of the waste and to decide the correct recycling routes.

A comprehensive radiological study was conducted in the surrounding public zones of the Nevada National Security Site to identify traces of resuspended radioactivity and heavy elemental contamination that might have resulted from various activities. The study used passive and active nuclear methods, specifically gamma spectrometry and instrumental neutron activation analysis, respectively. Passive gamma spectra analysis of air filter papers from various Community Environmental Monitoring Program stations conclusively verified the presence of radionuclides exclusively originating from the natural decay series of 238 U and 232 Th.
