Carbon dioxide laser treatment is a very effective mode of removal of small fragments of tissue from the cervix which causes minimal bleeding and trauma and is followed by rapid healing. Biopsy sections and particularly cytologic preparations obtained from the areas of laser action indicate that squamous and columnar epithelial cells and possibly fibrocytes in the underlying connective tissue are altered, appearing coagulated and elongated similar to cells which have been removed from an area of electrocautery.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the correlation between the development of diabetic retinopathy (DR) and the changes in corneal sub-basal nerve plexus (SNP) and corneal dendritic cells (DCs).
Methods: 58 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and 30 age- and sex-matched healthy participants underwent assessment of the corneal nerve. The DR group was divided into no diabetic retinopathy (NDR) and 29 eyes with mild to moderate non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR).

The photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) is promising additional therapy in the treatment of temporomandibular disorder (TMD). In this regard, the purpose of this narrative review is to give a wide-ranging, objective, and judicious view of the current knowledge on PBMT as an additional TMD treatment modality, with summarised updated information. Although the results of most research studies report improvement of pain in TMD patients, some state that sustainability of absence of pain after PBMT of TMD is of concern.

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the most common cause of blindness in the elderly. The exudative or wet form of AMD is caused by choroidal neovascularization (CNV) and subsequently a macular edema. Wet AMD can be effectively treated with anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) therapies.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: The pathogenesis of alcoholic gastric injury has long been a significant topic in the medical field. Dan-Shen-Yin (DSY), a classic traditional Chinese medicine formula, has been shown to alleviate gastric mucosal injury and to treat stomachaches in clinical settings. However, the mechanism by which DSY against alcoholic gastric injury requires further investigation.

Purpose: To investigate the feasibility and safety of MRI-guided focal laser ablation (FLA) in localized, International Society of Urological Pathology (ISUP) grade 1-3, prostate cancer (PCa) using an integrated system.
Methods: Ten consecutive males (mean age: 66±7 years) with low-to-intermediate risk PCa were prospectively included (April 2022-May 2023) and treated with MRI-guided FLA using an integrated system for laser energy control and MR thermometry monitoring. Primary endpoints were technical success, procedure-related adverse events (AEs) following SIR (Society of Interventional Radiology) classification, and 12-months local tumor progression-free survival (LTPFS), defined as no evident residual/ recurrent disease on follow-up imaging or histopathology at the treatment site.
