The image quality of 3D reconstructions produced using a C-arm mounted XRII depends on precise determination of the geometric parameters that describe the detector system in the laboratory frame of reference. We have designed a simplified calibration system that depends on images of a metal sphere, acquired during rotation of the gantry through 200 degrees. Angle-dependent shift corrections are obtained, accounting for nonideal motion in two directions: perpendicular to the axis of rotation and tangential to the circular trajectory (tau), and parallel to the axis of rotation (xi). Projection images are corrected prior to reconstruction using a simple shift-interpolation algorithm. We show that the motion of the gantry is highly reproducible during acquisitions within one day (mean standard deviation in tau and xi is 0.11 mm and 0.08 mm, respectively), and over 21 months (mean standard deviation in tau and xi is 0.10 mm and 0.06 mm, respectively). Reconstruction of a small-bead phantom demonstrates uniformity of the correction algorithm over the full volume of the reconstruction [standard deviation of full-width-half-maximum of the beads is approximately 0.25 pixels (0.13 mm) over the volume of reconstruction]. Our approach provides a simple correction technique that can be applied when trajectory deviations are significant relative to the pixel size of the detector but small relative to the detector field of view, and when the fan angle of the acquisition geometry is small (<20 degrees). A comparison with other calibration techniques in the literature is provided.

Introduction: This study aimed to evaluate the imaging findings of the chest flat panel detector computed tomography (FDCT) among coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) positive patients during urgent/emergent interventional neuroradiologic procedures.
Materials And Methods: Chest FDCT examinations were performed using a C-arm mounted FDCT within the interventional radiology (IR) suite if the reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) results were pending in patients with clinical findings suggestive of COVID-19. In those who already had positive RT-PCR results, FDCT was performed for acute evaluation only if an acute unexpected cardiopulmonary event occurred during the procedure.

High Speed Angiography (HSA) at 1000 fps is a novel interventional-imaging technique that was previously used to visualize changes in vascular flow details before and after flow-diverter treatment of cerebral aneurysms in in-vitro 3D printed models. In this first pre-clinical work, we demonstrate the use of the HSA technique during flow-diverter treatment of in-vivo rabbit aneurysm models. An aneurysm was created in the right common carotid artery of each of two rabbits using previously published elastase aneurysm-creation methods.

In this Neuro-Interventional Video, we demonstrate a novel Augmented Reality (AR) platform for visualising vascular imaging data during interventional procedures. The platform allows clinicians to interact with 3D patient data through head-mounted displays while remaining sterile. Our workflow converts rotational angiography data to 3D models in real-time, and enables intuitive hand-tracked manipulation of patient data, including tools for cropping, size measurement, and C-arm projection assessment.

Occupational radiation exposure to the eye lens of medical staff during endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) should be kept low so as not to exceed annual dose limits. Dose should be low to avoid tissue reactions and minimizing stochastic effects.
