Background: The efficacy of laminectomy procedures is contingent on the method of resection. The objective of this study was to investigate the impact of different methods of resection on the surgical safety of automated laminectomy robots, an area that remains uncharted.
Methods: Lamina resection surgeries using both drilling and layer-by-layer methods, are performed on ovine spinal samples.

Purpose: The use of computer-assisted virtual surgical planning (VSP) for craniosynostosis surgery is gaining increasing implementation in the clinics. However, accurately transferring the preoperative planning data to the operating room remains challenging. We introduced and investigated a fully digital workflow to perform fronto-orbital advancement (FOA) surgery using 3D-printed patient-specific implants (PSIs) and cold-ablation robot-guided laser osteotomy.

Study Design: A biomechanical study.
Objective: We aimed to assess temperature fluctuations when applying the ultrasonic osteotome during laminectomy and identify the most appropriate cutting method for robot-assisted laminectomy to mitigate the risk of heat-related injuries.
Methods: Utilizing a robotic system for laminectomy, the study implemented the ultrasonic bone scalpel to cut both artificial polyurethane bones and animal spinal bones.

Importance: Reconstructive stability after mandibulectomy with osseous autogenous transplant is influenced by masticatory forces and the resulting stress on the titanium plate.
Objective: To determine an optimal geometry of mandibular osteotomy that minimizes undesirable loading of the reconstruction plate.
Design, Setting, And Participants: In this combined in silico and in vitro basic science study, segmented computed tomography images of an adult male human mandible downloaded from the Visible Human Project were analyzed.

: 3D patient-specific corrective osteotomies are optimized for use with oscillating saws, thereby rendering it incapable of executing curved osteotomies. The aim of this technical note is to introduce and evaluate the Panflute technique, which facilitates curved osteotomies with precise depth control for intra-articular corrective osteotomies in posttraumatic tibial plateau malunions. : A 33-year-old male patient with an intra-articular malunion was treated one year after index surgery of a lateral split-depression tibial plateau fracture with the Panflute technique.
