Viroids, small circular non-coding RNAs, act as infectious pathogens in higher plants, demonstrating high stability despite consisting solely of naked RNA. Their dependence of replication on host machinery poses the question of whether RNA modifications play a role in viroid biology. Here, we explore RNA modifications in the avocado sunblotch viroid (ASBVd) and the citrus exocortis viroid (CEVd), representative members of viroids replicating in chloroplasts and the nucleus, respectively, using LC - MS and Oxford Nanopore Technology (ONT) direct RNA sequencing.

Endoscopic cyclophotocoagulation (ECP) offers a viable alternative for managing advanced primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) in patients at risk of ocular hypotony. We describe a case of a successful outcome with ECP in a patient who developed ocular hypotony secondary to Preserflo surgery. A 93-year-old South Asian male experienced significant visual field deterioration and ocular hypotony following Preserflo surgery on the left eye, complicated by a severe cough from COVID-19.

Objective: Repetitive and restricted behaviors (RRBs) are a core symptom of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), but effective treatment approaches are still lacking. Executive function (EF) has been identified as a promising target, as research increasingly shows a link between EF deficits and the occurrence of RRBs. However, the neural mechanisms that connect the two remain unclear.

In the pursuit of a brighter future for their children, many female migrant workers leave their home countries to seek employment abroad, often as caregivers for families in wealthier nations. This decision necessitates prolonged separation from their own children, depriving them of the opportunity to witness and participate in crucial stages of their children's development. The absence of these mothers, combined with inconsistent caregiving in their stead, significantly increases the vulnerability of left-behind children to mental health challenges, such as depression, anxiety, and difficulties in forming emotional bonds with others.

Purpose: Given the potential role of nasolacrimal duct (NLD) morphometry in the aetiology of primary acquired obstructions, it is imperative that clinicians have access to detailed anatomical information. The aim of this study was to determine normative data on nasolacrimal duct morphometry in the Turkish population sample and to provide guidelines for clinicians.
Methods: The study included retrospectively computed tomography images of a healthy Turkish population sample of 151 individuals, 79 of whom were female and 72 of whom were male.
