It was established in the experiments determining the influence of the mushroom powder on acidity of the HCl solution by means of ionometrical method that in 15 minutes after introduction 3 gram of the powder pH of the solution increases from 1.62 up to 2.64. The stable meaning of the solution pH (without fall) can be (held) the same in the presence of the powder more than 23 hours. The mushroom powder reduces the high content of the ions Pb2+ and Cu2+ in the solution from 8.8 x 10(-6) up to 3.3 x 10(-6) and from 11.8 x 10(-6) up to 8.6 x 10(-6) mole/ml correspondingly. The trustworthy reduction (fall) of the concentration of the ions Zn2+ and Cd2+ in the filtrate was not discovered (found out). To determine the content of metal in the solution the method of flaming atomic adsorption.

Edible mushrooms have been used as sustainable sources of proteases of industrial interest. The aim of this research was to investigate the influence of different culture media on mycelial growth and the potential of an Amazonian mushroom species, Auricularia fuscosuccinea DPUA 1624, in the biosynthesis of bovine milk coagulant enzymes. The species was cultivated on Sabouraud agar, malt, glucose, and peptone agar, malt extract agar, and glucose and peptone agar, supplemented with yeast extract for mycelial development.

Article Synopsis
  • Hyperlipidemia is linked to poor diet and inactivity, but prebiotics and probiotics, like those found in mushrooms and kefir milk, could help address its effects.
  • A study tested dried powdered mushrooms (DPM) and kefir milk (KM) on hyperlipidemic rats, showing significant improvements in health markers such as body weight, blood glucose, and lipid profiles when DPM and KM were included in their diet.
  • The findings suggest that the combination of DPM and KM could serve as functional foods to reduce hyperlipidemia and enhance gut health, but further research on humans is necessary.

The psychedelic mushroom market has expanded rapidly due to changing regulations and increasing consumer demand. Product diversity now extends beyond traditional capsules and tablets to include gummies, powders, and confectionery items, complicating quality control efforts. To assess the quality and potential adulteration of Amanita musca-ria and Psilocybe cubensis-based products, a validated LC-QToF-MS method was developed.

The traditional use of Cordyceps militaris, an entomopathogenic fungus, in East Asian medicine has been well documented. Our previous study revealed that the fruiting body powder of C. militaris, referred to as Ryukyu-kaso, contains 1,3-β-glucan and stimulates bone marrow-derived dendritic cells via a dectin-1-dependent pathway.

Shiitake mushrooms (Lentinula edodes) are a rich source of ergosterol, which can be converted into vitamin D, a valuable nutrient for human health. This study evaluated the enhancement of vitamin D in shiitake-mushroom powders using intense pulsed light (IPL). The initial vitamin D content of the sample was 4.
