Objectives: The French 2022 Urolithiasis(CLAFU) Guidelineswere recently released. We aimed to evaluate the impact and diffusion of these CLAFU guidelines among the French Urologists.

Methods: French certified and in-training Urologists were invited to participate in an online survey between April and May 2024, including 18 questions assessing demographics, practice trends, awareness of the new guidelines, their dissemination and impact on daily practice.

Background: Individual kidney tubule biomarkers are associated with risks for chronic kidney disease (CKD) progression and mortality in persons with diabetes. Integrating multiple kidney biomarkers using a latent variable method of exploratory factor analysis could define distinct dimensions of kidney health, and their associations with adverse outcomes.

Albuminuria-increased urine albumin excretion-is associated with cardiovascular mortality among patients with diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, or heart failure, as well as among adults with few cardiovascular risk factors. Many authors have hypothesized that albuminuria reflects widespread endothelial dysfunction, but additional work is needed to uncover whether albuminuria is directly pathologic or causative of cardiovascular disease. Urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio is an attractive, unifying biomarker of cardiovascular, kidney, and metabolic conditions that may be useful for identifying and monitoring disease trajectory.
