Spectral (IR) and thermogravimetrical properties of surface lipids of two coniferous species, differing during molecular weights of their components, were investigated in the process of ontogenic development. Different mechanisms of surface lipid formation in leaves of the investigated species are shown. It is supposed that low temperature endothermic effect, which is connected with phase transfer of the surface lipids amorphous part may play functional role in formation of stability of plants to gases.

Objectives: Because patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) have persistent and profound limitations in immune functions, immune response to vaccines may diminish. The aim of our study was to compare the antibody to Hepatitis B surface antigen (anti-HBs) serologies of children with T1DM, at the time of T1DM diagnosis, who were vaccinated according to the vaccination schedule with the anti-HBs serologies of healthy children. And to investigate the relationship between anti-HBs levels and the accompanying variables of these patients.

This study investigates the dynamics of oleate hydratase (OhyA), a bacterial flavoenzyme from , and its interactions with lipid membranes, focusing on the factors influencing membrane binding and oligomerization. OhyA catalyzes the hydration of unsaturated fatty acids, playing a key role in bacterial pathogenesis by neutralizing host antimicrobial fatty acids. OhyA binds the membrane bilayer to access membrane-embedded substrates for catalysis, and structural studies have revealed that OhyA forms oligomers on membrane surfaces, stabilized by both protein-protein and protein-lipid interactions.

The current project was designed to develop piperine-loaded solid lipid microparticles (SLMs) to assess the anti-arthritic potential of piperine (PIP). Variable proportions of carnauba wax, beeswax, and tween 80 were employed for preparing SLMs by using the solvent evaporation technique. The developed formulations were subjected to particle size measurements, entrapment efficiency (EE), and zeta potential (ZP) determination.

Yeast immobilization systems can recoup yeast losses in continuous batch fermentation and relieve substrate or product inhibition. We report the use of solution blow spinning process to efficiently prepare polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHB) /konjac glucomannan (KGM) nanofiber membranes as immobilization carriers for Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The prepared PHB/KGM nanofiber membranes had fiber diameters similar to the scale of yeast cells.

The constant exposure of the skin to internal and external stimuli drives towards skin aging and lost in skin hydration and elasticity. Chronic low-grade inflammation, called inflammaging, and oxidative stress are the leading causes of this phenomenon. Fatty acid coacervation is a preparation method for Solid Lipid Nanoparticles (SLNs), which does not employ solvents, and is associated to low energy consumption.
