It has been found that the plastic models significantly enhance the student's knowledge of the anatomy of teeth as it relates to operative dentistry. The fact that the models are three-dimensional eliminates guesswork as to the exact position of the pulp, and the rigidity of the plastic cast enhances the recovery of morphological features of the pulp as it existed in the natural tooth.

Background: Short dentin etching, a relatively recent technique, aims to improve resin-dentin bonding by preserving hydroxyapatite crystals within the collagen spaces. This study explores short dentin etching's potential in mitigating over-etching issues in deep proximal dentin/cementum margins, an aspect not previously investigated. This study evaluates the microtensile bond strength (μTBS) and marginal adaptation of two universal adhesives using different etch-and-rinse strategies (15-second and 3-second etching) and self-etch strategies, both immediate and post-thermal cycling and mechanical loading.

Background: The success of a restoration largely depends on the quality of its fit. This study aimed to investigate the fit quality of monolithic zirconia veneers (MZVs) produced through traditional and digital workflows.

Methods: A typodont maxillary right central incisor was prepared.

Objectives: The growing trend of minimally invasive approaches has encouraged the application of partial coverage designs in restorative dentistry. This study aimed to evaluate the cyclic fatigue performance of different CAD-CAM materials used in various partial coverage designs for premolar restorations.

Methods: A freshly extracted upper premolar was prepared using a high-speed handpiece to create mesio-occluso-distal (MOD) cavities with standardized dimensions.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study examines how synaptic changes in neuronal circuits may underlie memory storage, focusing on the structural evidence for synaptic engrams at the hippocampal mossy fiber synapse.
  • - Researchers used a combination of chemical potentiation, functional recordings, and advanced microscopy techniques to assess the effects of forskolin on synaptic transmission and structure.
  • - Findings revealed that forskolin increased both the number of readily releasable vesicles and their proximity to priming proteins, suggesting that structural reorganization at synaptic sites could correlate with learning and memory processes.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess how different viscosities of short fiber-reinforced composite resin (SFRC) cores and veneering composite resins affect the fracture strength of direct occlusal veneers.
  • A total of 48 resin dies mimicking a maxillary premolar were created, tested across three core material groups, and further divided by two types of veneering materials.
  • Results showed that having an SFRC core boosted fracture strength, with no significant difference between high and low viscosity cores, and injectable composite resin outperformed packable composite resin in terms of strength.
