An automated real-time microcomputer-based video pattern generator for use in optometry and ophthalmology is presented. The system can generate various vision pattern tests including a static and dynamic random dot stereogram that can be used to test depth perception. The patterns are generated in real time, which provides the ability to generate programmable images with objects that can move at different speeds. This feature is very useful in testing depth perception among infants and non-communicative people by correlating the movement of the eye with the movement of the object. The system also can generate other patterns such as checkerboards, vertical and horizontal bars, and provide the ability to sweep the size of the checkers and bars. These patterns are also useful for testing visual acuity. The system hardware is based on the TMS34010 graphics processor and hardware circuits and is connected to a host computer through a RS-232C serial communication port. Both control and application programs are written in assembly language. The system is fast, versatile and flexible with affordable cost.

This study aimed to examine the reliability and validity of the Internet Gaming Disorder Scale for children (IGDS-C) in Japanese clinical and nonclinical populations.
Methods: The study included clinical outpatients aged 9-29 with problematic game use and nonclinical adolescents aged 12-18 who played online games at least once a week.

Methods: A total of 24 anesthesia residents were randomly divided into a video group and a control group. Residents in both groups took part in a simulated interview and received a scenario-based lecture on how to communicate with patients during preoperative visits.

We investigated the effects of different modalities of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) on the unaffected hemisphere and observed correlation between suprahyoid muscle activity and cortical activation in unilateral stroke patients when swallowing saliva, based on functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS). Background: Remaking Recess (RR) is a school-based evidence-based peer social engagement intervention for autistic students. RR involves direct training and coaching with educators; however, educators face several barriers to implementation at both the individual- and organizational-levels. This protocol paper describes a multi-site study that will test whether an educator-level implementation strategy, coaching, with or without a school-level implementation strategy, school-based teams, will maximize educators' use (fidelity and sustainment) of RR for autistic students and their peers who are socially-isolated, rejected, or peripheral and may need additional support during recess.
