Structural impediments to the efficient use of older workers in the United States.

Structural impediments in the U.S. that will prevent the efficient use of the older worker, and prevent the Federal Government from successfully requiring workers to stay employed to age 70, are presented. The impediments discussed, and options for addressing them, include demographics, past policy initiatives, worker protection laws developed for different circumstances, lost opportunities because of failures to act, and fragmentation of the research base on aging and work.

Peru is among Latin American countries with the largest Indigenous population, yet ethnical health disparities persist, particularly in the Amazon region which comprises 60% of the national territory. Healthcare models that include Indigenous medicine and traditional healers present an important avenue for addressing such inequalities, as they increase cultural adequacy of services, healthcare access, and acknowledge Indigenous Rights for their perspectives to be represented in public healthcare. The orbital-free density functional theory (OF-DFT) based method is a convenient tool to carry out electronic structure calculations scaling almost linearly with the number of electrons. However, the main impediment in the application of this method is the unavailability of the accurate form for the non-interacting kinetic energy functional in terms of electron density.
