Reovirus mRNA synthesized in vitro by the virus-associated RNA polymerase in the presence of S-adenosylmethionine contains blocked, methylated 5'-termini with the structure, m-7G(5')ppp(5')G-MpCp. The functional significance and possible mechanism of formation of this novel 5'-5' terminal nucleotide linkage are discussed.

AQUAREOVIRUS: a genus of within the family Spinareoviridae, order Reovirales, infects aquatic animals. Their genomes comprise 11 segments of double-stranded RNA, which function directly as mRNAs upon release into the cytoplasm of infected cells. Here, liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry was employed to annotate small coding ORFs in the Aquareovirus-C genome.

Grass Carp Reovirus (GCRV) and (Ah) are the causative agents of haemorrhagic disease in grass carp. This study aimed to investigate the molecular mechanisms and immune responses at the miRNA, mRNA, and protein levels in grass carp kidney cells (CIK) infected by Grass Carp Reovirus (GCRV, NV) and (Bacteria, NB) to gain insight into their pathogenesis. Within 48 h of infection with Grass Carp Reovirus (GCRV), 99 differentially expressed microRNA (DEMs), 2132 differentially expressed genes (DEGs), and 627 differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) were identified by sequencing; a total of 92 DEMs, 3162 DEGs, and 712 DEPs were identified within 48 h of infection with .

Unlabelled: Ticks are increasingly important vectors of human and agricultural diseases. While many studies have focused on tick-borne bacteria, far less is known about tick-associated viruses and their roles in public health or tick physiology. To address this, we investigated patterns of bacterial and viral communities across two field populations of western black-legged ticks ().

African horse sickness (AHS) is a highly severe disease caused by a viral etiological agent, African horse sickness virus (AHSV). It is endemic in sub-Saharan Africa, while sporadic outbreaks have occurred in North Africa, Asia, and Europe, with the most recent cases in Thailand. AHSV transmission between equines occurs primarily by biting midges of the genus , especially , with a wide distribution globally.
