Asthma is the most common chronic medical condition that school teachers may encounter among their pupils. However management of asthma in schools and the role school teachers adopt in this condition has only recently been explored. The aim of this study was to determine teachers' knowledge of asthma and its management. A postal questionnaire was circulated to 199 school teachers from 46 schools in Dublin City. A 74 per cent response rate was obtained. The number of children with asthma as identified by teachers was 7.8 per cent which suggests that asthma may be unrecognised in a number of pupils. Knowledge on signs and symptoms of asthma, provoking factors of asthma and the nature of the disease was generally satisfactory. However, knowledge on asthma medications, the purpose of inhalers and teachers' understanding of the treatment and management of asthma was considered poor. Knowledge on exercise-induced asthma was limited. There is a need to provide school teachers with education on asthma and its management. School policies on asthma also need to be developed with particular reference to action necessary in the event of an acute severe attack of asthma.

This study investigated the potential of the indirubin-3'-oxime (I3O) compound to mitigate temperature-induced male infertility in . Elevated temperatures significantly reduced egg-hatching rates, but I3O supplementation improved these rates, suggesting it can partially restore fertility under heat stress. Additionally, I3O was found to inhibit soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH), an enzyme involved in the metabolism of epoxyeicosatrienoic acids, which are vital for reproductive health.

Bullying in schools remains a critical issue, and teachers often struggle to identify students at risk of victimization. This study explores the prevalence of various forms of bullying among high-risk groups in Taiwanese schools, using peer perspectives to gain insight. Aim: This paper aims to investigate the relationship between social support and rural teachers' work engagement while exploring the mediating effect of mindfulness in teaching and the moderating effect of psychological safety.
Methods: A sample of 866 rural teachers was recruited, in order to complete the Mindfulness in Teaching Scale, Social Support Rating Scale, Psychological Safety Scale, and Utrecht Work Engagement Scale.
Results: The study findings indicate that: (1) social support positively influenced the work engagement of rural teachers; (2) further, mindfulness in teaching partially mediated the effect of social support on rural teachers' work engagement; (3) psychological safety moderated the second half of the pathway of "social support → mindfulness in teaching → work engagement" while the positive correlation between mindfulness in teaching and work engagement was stronger among rural teachers with high psychological safety.
