The high-resolution FTIR spectrum of the HDSe molecule in the presence of H(2)Se and D(2)Se was recorded on (80)Se monoisotopic and natural samples in the 1500-2900 cm(-1) region and theoretically analyzed in the regions of the stretching fundamental bands nu(1) and nu(3) near 1692 and 2351 cm(-1), respectively. The analysis was performed starting from derived isotopic relations between vibration-rotation, anharmonic, centrifugal distortion, and other parameters which reveal high predictive power. Strong resonance interactions between the states (100) and (020) are taken into account, and sets of parameters which reproduce the experimental rotation-vibration energies of the (100) and (001) states with a mean accuracy of 0.00008 and 0.00009 cm(-1), respectively, for the HD(80)Se species, were obtained. For the less abundant species, for which some higher order terms were constrained, slightly worse agreement was achieved. The refined spectroscopic parameters are very close to their predicted values. Copyright 1999 Academic Press.

Biological materials, such as bamboo, are naturally optimized composites with exceptional mechanical properties. Inspired by such natural composites, traditional methods involve extracting nanofibers from natural sources and applying them in composite materials, which, however, often results in less ideal mechanical properties. To address this, this study develops a bottom-up nanofiber assembly strategy to create strong fiber-reinforced composite hydrogels inspired by the hierarchical assembly of bamboo.

In the past two decades, interest in the fascial system has exponentially increased, particularly manual treatment and stretching exercises. The fascia's fundamental role remains the transmission of tensions, although this function can be impaired due to excessive or reduced stiffness. This second part of the work outlines the basic principles concerning the importance of appropriate and balanced fascial stiffness for correct postural and functional maintenance of the human body.

We reviewed fundamental studies on muscular pain, encompassing the characteristics of primary afferent fibers and neurons, spinal and thalamic projections, several muscular pain models, and possible neurochemical mechanisms of muscle pain. Most parts of this review were based on data obtained from animal experiments, and some researches on humans were also introduced. We focused on delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) induced by lengthening contractions (LC), suitable for studying myofascial pain syndromes.

The smooth muscle cells (SMCs) located in the vascular media layer are continuously subjected to cyclic stretching perpendicular to the vessel wall and play a crucial role in vascular wall remodeling and blood pressure regulation. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are promising tools to differentiate into SMCs. Mechanical stretch loading offers an opportunity to guide the MSC-SMC differentiation and mechanical adaption for function regeneration of blood vessels.

With the continuous development of digital information and big data technologies, the ambient temperature and heat generation during the operation of magnetic storage devices play an increasingly crucial role in ensuring data security and device stability. In this study, we examined the lattice thermal conductivity of the van der Waals magnetic semiconductor CrSBr from bulk to monolayer structures using first-principles calculations and the phonon Boltzmann transport equation. Our results indicated that lattice thermal conductivity show anisotropy and CrSBr bilayer exhibits lower thermal conductivity at all temperatures.
