Background: This study aimed to investigate the potential utility of Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) signaling cell detection in the early diagnosis of cervical lesions.
Methods: Enrichment of cervical epithelial cells was carried out using a calibrated membrane with 8-μm diameter pores. RNA-in situ hybridization (RNA-ISH) was employed to detect and characterize EMT cells utilizing specific EMT markers.
The present study aimed to evaluate the application of DNA ploidy analysis, human papillomavirus (HPV-DNA) test, and thin-prep cytologic test (TCT) for mass screening of cervical cancer (CC). A total of 13,830 patients who underwent both TCT and HPV-DNA tests from June 2021 to June 2022 were selected as study participants (10,107 patients from Shandong Provincial Hospital, 2447 patients from First People's Hospital of Tancheng County, and 1276 patients from Liaocheng People's Hospital). We also conducted a DNA ploidy analysis and compared the results.

Background: Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations in non-small-cell lung carcinomas (NSCLC) are a frequent class of driver mutations, and tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) therapy provides considerable clinical benefits. Using the most effective and also easiest method for EGFR analysis is cost-effective and time-saving. In this study, we aimed to determine which method could be more effective by comparing the incidences of EGFR mutations in cytological and histological samples which were obtained by different methods also, whether there was a difference in the incidences of EGFR mutations between the primary foci, mediastinal lymph nodes, and distant metastatic foci.

To analyze the clinical characteristics of mucinous obstruction diagnosed by dacryoendoscopy and compared the cytological changes with membranous obstruction using a modified liquid-based thin prep cytology method. A retrospective chart review was conducted on 53 eyes of 51 patients with mucus obstruction based on dacryoendoscopic findings from January 2022 to October 2022. Liquid-based thin-prep cytology was performed by irrigating the inside of the nasolacrimal drainage system with saline during dacryoendoscopy-guided silicone tube intubation.
