Objectives: The primary objective of this review is to provide updated mechanisms that regulate ferroptosis sensitivity in cancer cells and recent advancements in drug targeting for ferroptosis as an antitumor therapy.
Methods: To achieve these objectives, a comprehensive literature review was conducted, analyzing recent studies on ferroptosis, including its cellular, molecular, and gene-level characteristics. The review involved an evaluation of advancements in ferroptosis drug research across various medical domains, with particular attention to novel therapeutic approaches in nano-medicine, TCM, and Western medicine.

Myocardial bridging is a frequent anomaly of the heart in humans and other animals. A myocardial bridge is typically characterized by the systolic narrowing seen with traditional catheter angiography, but this abnormality is not by itself a sign of ischemia or the need for intervention. In particular, transient spontaneous angina must be corroborated by reproducible narrowing during acetylcholine testing; this narrowing occurs during resting conditions and is responsive to nitroglycerin administration.

Alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD) poses a significant global health burden and is a leading cause of liver-related morbidity and mortality. ALD encompasses a spectrum of disease states ranging from asymptomatic steatosis to acute hepatitis and cirrhosis. Alcohol use disorder (AUD) significantly increases the risk of developing ALD, and insight into AUD can provide a more complete understanding of ALD and the patients affected by these interrelated diseases.

Objectives: The UK's withdrawal from the European Union (a political movement known as 'Brexit') incited concern both in the public and private sector about the future of drug development and the clinical trial landscape in the UK. This study evaluates trends in the initiation of phase III clinical trials that evaluated systemic anticancer treatments from 2010 to 2022 both in the UK and worldwide.
Methods And Analysis: Relevant clinical trials were identified through ClinicalTrials.

In 2025, it will be 30 years since the initial clinical approval of pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (PLD) by the Food and Drug Administration. PLD predated the field of nanomedicine and became a model nanomedicine setting key pharmacological principles (prolonged circulation, slow drug release and the enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect) for clinical application of other nano-drugs in cancer therapy. The impressive reduction of cardiotoxicity conferred by PLD is the most valuable clinical asset.
