NH-MIL-125(Ti) and its functional nanomaterials - a versatile platform in the photocatalytic arena.

Nanoscale

January 2025

Centre for Nano Science and Nano Technology, S 'O' A (Deemed to be University), Bhubaneswar-751 030, Odisha, India.

Titanium (Ti)-based MOFs are promising materials known for their porosity, stability, diverse valence states, and a lower conduction band (CB) than Zr-MOFs. These features support stable ligand-to-metal charge transfer (LMCT) transitions under photoirradiation, enhancing photocatalytic performance. However, Ti-MOF structures remain a challenge owing to the highly volatile and hydrophilic nature of ionic Ti precursors.

Management of nausea and vomiting induced by antibody-drug conjugates.

Breast Cancer

January 2025

Advanced Cancer Translational Research Institute, Showa University, 1-5-8 Hatanodai, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, 142-8555, Japan.

Antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) are an emerging class of anticancer therapy that combines the specificity and long circulation half-life of monoclonal antibodies with the cytotoxic potency of the payload connected through a chemical linker. The optimal management of toxicities is crucial for improving quality of life in patients undergoing ADCs and for avoiding improper dose reductions or discontinuations. This article focuses on the characteristics and management of nausea and vomiting (NV) induced by three ADCs: trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd), sacituzumab govitecan (SG), and datopotamab deruxtecan (Dato-DXd).

Fragments of Community: Physician Assistant Student Perspectives on Experience of Community With Faculty.

J Physician Assist Educ

January 2025

Kaley Romero, PA-C, Metrolina Nephrology Associates, Charlotte, North Carolina.

Introduction: Burnout is prevalent among both physician assistant (PA) students and faculty in the United States. Theories concerning the root cause of this burnout include a breakdown of community, which, in this context, serves as a framework comprising membership, influence, integration and fulfilment of needs, and shared emotional connection. A community framework has yet to be formally applied to the PA learning environment.

Molecular Imaging for Biomimetic Nanomedicine in Cancer Therapy: Current Insights and Challenges.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

January 2025

Department of Nuclear Medicine, Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan 430022, China.

Coating biological membranes onto biomimetic nanocarriers improves biocompatibility, prolongs circulation, and enhances targeted delivery for cancer precision medicine. To better understand the biodistribution profiles of these biomimetic nanosystems, molecular imaging techniques, including optical imaging, radionuclide imaging, magnetic resonance imaging, and ultrasound imaging, have been widely employed for in vivo tracking and dynamic imaging. Here in this review, we delve into the profound role of these imaging modalities in visualizing changes in the tumor microenvironment, particularly in monitoring oxygen consumption and immune response dynamics, highlighting their potential to improve cancer therapies.

The detection and analysis of circulating cell-free nucleic acid (ccfNA) biomolecules are redefining a new era of molecular targeted cancer therapies. However, the clinical translation of electrochemical ccfNA biosensing remains hindered by unresolved challenges in analytical specificity and sensitivity. In this Perspective, we present a novel electrochemical framework for improving ccfNA biosensor performance by optimizing the critical electrode-biomolecules-electrolyte interfaces.
