The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of three conservative interventions: pelvic floor muscle training, bladder training, or both, on urodynamic parameters in women with urinary incontinence. Two hundred four women with genuine stress incontinence (GSI) or detrusor instability with or without GSI (DI +/- GSI) participated in a two-site trial comparing pelvic floor muscle training, bladder training, or both. Patients were stratified based on severity of urinary incontinence, urodynamic diagnosis, and treatment site, then randomized to a treatment group. All women underwent a comprehensive standardized evaluation including multi-channel urodynamics at the initial assessment and at the end of 12 weeks of therapy. Analysis of covariance was used to detect differences among treatment groups on urodynamic parameters. Post-treatment evaluations were available for 181 women. No differences were found among treatments on the following measurements: maximum urethral closure pressure, mean urethral closure pressure, maximum Kegel urethral closure pressure, mean Kegel urethral closure pressure, functional urethral length, pressure transmission ratios, straining urethral axis, first sensation to void, maximum cystometric capacity, and the MCC minus FSV. The effect of treatment did not differ by urodynamic diagnosis. Behavioral therapy had no effect on commonly measured urodynamic parameters. The mechanism by which clinical improvement occurs remains unknown. Neurourol. Urodynam. 18:427-436, 1999.

: The aim of the study was to assess the effect of high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology in the treatment of female stress urinary incontinence (SUI). : 20 women with SUI were delivered a treatment course with HIFEM technology. Patients attended 6 therapies scheduled twice a week.

Purpose: To compare voiding parameters in women with and without increased postvoid residual (PVR) volume, to correlate these parameters with PVR volume and PVR percentage, and to describe their ability to predict an increased PVR volume.
Methods: Retrospective cross-sectional study of urodynamics data prospectively acquired from consecutive symptomatic women over a 5-year period. Patients with spinal cord disorders and with abdominal straining during voiding (abdominal pressure ≥10 cm H2O over baseline at maximum flow rate [Qmax]) were excluded.

Background: Neurogenic bladder dysfunction is a common consequence of stroke, and it substantially impacts the quality of life and functional independence of affected individuals. Traditional treatment modalities have limitations in achieving optimal outcomes. This study aims to explore the effects of electroacupuncture treatment on bladder function and neurogenic bladder urodynamic characteristics in stroke patients.

Introduction And Hypothesis: This study was aimed at evaluating the therapeutic effects of a modified intravesical botulinum toxin injection technique (fewer injection sites under local anesthesia), in comparison with the conventional technique for patients with idiopathic detrusor overactivity, considering the urodynamic parameters.
Methods: In this double-blinded randomized clinical trial, 78 adult females with idiopathic detrusor overactivity were divided into two groups: conventional and modified groups. In the conventional method, patients received intradetrusor botulinum toxin injection at 20 sites under general or spinal anesthesia in a trigone-sparing fashion.

Sound-based uroflowmetry (SU) offers a non-invasive alternative to traditional uroflowmetry (UF) for evaluating lower urinary tract dysfunctions, enabling home-based testing and reducing the need for clinic visits. This study compares SU and UF in estimating urine flow rate and voided volume in 50 male volunteers (aged 18-60), with UF results from a Minze uroflowmeter as the reference standard. Audio signals recorded during voiding were segmented and machine learning algorithms (gradient boosting, random forest, and support vector machine) estimated flow parameters from three devices: Ultramic384k, Mi A1 smartphone, and Oppo smartwatch.
