Objective: To evaluate whether extended use of continuous passive motion (CPM) may allay the pain of walking, diminish disease effect, and increase the usual walking speed in patients with osteoarthritis (OA) of the hip.
Methods: This pilot study comprised 21 patients with Kellgren-Lawrence grade 2-4 OA of the hip who used CPM for periods of 1.2 to 7.6 h daily throughout a 12 week trial.
Results: Significant improvements were found in the patients' assessment of pain on visual analog scale, Sickness Impact Profile, self-selected walking speed, and the number of subjects who decreased their medication usage. None of these improvements was related to the radiographic grade of the patients' OA or the daily duration of CPM.
Conclusion: Although regular exercise is now routinely recommended to patients with OA, there has been relatively little study of specific exercise programs. As such investigations are undertaken, we believe CPM should be included among the options that are studied.

Purpose: This systematic review evaluated the efficacy of postoperative rehabilitation for patients at risk of poorer outcomes after total knee arthroplasty.
Methods: Six databases were searched, and only randomised controlled trials were included. Two reviewers independently screened, extracted data, and appraised the quality of the studies.

Objectives: Occupational hearing loss is a significant problem worldwide despite the fact that it can be mitigated by the wearing of hearing protection devices (HPDs). When surveyed, workers frequently report that worsened work performance while wearing HPDs is one reason why they choose not to wear them. However, there have been few studies to supplement these subjective reports with objective measures.

The continued evolution of SARS-CoV-2 variants capable of subverting vaccine and infection-induced immunity suggests the advantage of a broadly protective vaccine against betacoronaviruses (β-CoVs). Recent studies have isolated monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) from SARS-CoV-2 recovered-vaccinated donors capable of neutralizing many variants of SARS-CoV-2 and other β-CoVs. Many of these mAbs target the conserved S2 stem region of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, rather than the receptor binding domain contained within S1 primarily targeted by current SARS-CoV-2 vaccines.

Intrusive luxation is one of the most severe types of dental trauma that needs immediate intervention. Various treatment modalities are passive, active, and surgical repositioning performed to prevent healing complications such as root resorption, pulp necrosis, ankylosis, and infraocclusion of the traumatized teeth. This case report discusses a patient with traumatically intruded incisors while undergoing orthodontic treatment.

Microfluidics-based droplets have emerged as a powerful technology for biomedical research, offering precise control over droplet size and structure, optimal mixing of solutions, and prevention of cross-contamination. It is a major branch of microfluidic technology with applications in diagnostic testing, imaging, separation, and gene amplification. This review discusses the different aspects of microfluidic devices, droplet generation techniques, droplet types, and the production of micro/nano particles, along with their advantages and limitations.
