Intraoperative search for the sentinel node using patent blue is considered a non risk procedure. We report the first case of anaphylactic shock and allergy. We emphasize the highly exceptional nature of this adverse effect previously observed in other disciplines using this coloring agent. In light of the favorable outcome in our patient and the importance of the method, this single accident would not be sufficient to contraindicate the continuing use of patent blue in ongoing research.

Introduction: The management of malignant melanomas often involves performing a sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) aided by imaging with lymphoscintigraphy. Whether lymphoscintigraphy should be performed on the same day as the SLNB operation (SD) or the day before (DB) surgery remains debated. This study aims to summarise existing evidence regarding the impact of the relative timings of lymphoscintigraphy and SLNB on clinical outcomes in melanoma.

Background: Lymphadenectomy for rectal cancer is clearly defined by total mesorectal excision (TME). The analogous surgical strategy for the colon, the complete mesocolic excision (CME), follows the same principles of dissection in embryologically predefined planes.

Method: This narrative review initially identified key issues related to lymphadenectomy of rectal and colon cancer.

Background: This is a multicentre, European, prospective trial evaluating the diagnostic accuracy of One Step Nucleic Acid Amplification (OSNA) compared to sentinel lymph nodes histopathological ultrastaging in endometrial cancer patients.

Methods: Centres with expertise in sentinel lymph node mapping in endometrial cancer patients in Europe will be invited to participate in the study. Participating units will be trained on the correct usage of the OSNA RD-210 analyser and nucleic acid amplification reagent kit LYNOAMP CK19 E for rapid detection of metastatic nodal involvement, based on the cytokeratin 19 (CK19) mRNA detection.

This systematic review and meta-analysis protocol aims to evaluate the comparative efficacy of different sentinel lymph node (SLN) detection techniques in the management of vulvar cancer. Vulvar cancer, though rare, predominantly affects older women and requires effective management strategies. The SLN technique has become a standard approach for early-stage cases, offering reduced morbidity compared to complete lymphadenectomy.
