Background: Wrist synovitis often leads to persistent pain, swelling, and limited mobility, causing significant functional impairment and psychological distress, including anxiety. Although arthroscopic synovectomy can alleviate physical symptoms, whether it also improves anxiety and the causal relationship between synovitis and anxiety remains unclear.
Methods: A prospective study was conducted on 44 patients diagnosed with wrist synovitis who underwent arthroscopic synovectomy.

Background: Dementia is age-related with a significant genetic contribution, yet genome-wide association studies have not fully accounted for heritability. This discrepancy may in part be due to reliance on SNPs and small indels. Whole-genome sequencing (WGS) data in the Japanese population may reveal population-specific susceptibility loci for dementia.

Background: The high comorbidity and symptom overlap of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and social anxiety disorder (SAD), has led to the study of their shared and disorder-specific neural substrates. However, the morphometric similarity network (MSN) differences among these disorders remain unknown.
Methods: MSN derived from T1-weighted images in patients of GAD, PTSD, and SAD, and health controls (HC) using a Siemens 3T magnetic resonance imaging system.
Gun-related violence is becoming increasingly more common in the United States, and ballistic injuries pose a challenge to the orthopaedic surgeon on trauma call. The guiding principles of trauma care are almost exclusively based on blunt trauma, and the management principles do not always translate. Ballistic long bone fractures, particularly of the lower extremity, can often be managed with similar principles, although the injury pattern can make restoration of anatomic alignment a challenge.

ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling protein ATRX is an essential regulator involved in maintenance of DNA structure and chromatin state and regulation of gene expression during development. ATRX was originally identified as the monogenic cause of X-linked α-thalassemia mental retardation (ATR-X) syndrome. Affected individuals display a variety of developmental abnormalities and skeletal deformities.
