Background: The prognostic nutritional index has been identified as a predictor of postoperative outcomes in various fields. We investigated the usefulness of the prognostic nutritional index as a risk factor for postoperative complications in secondary spontaneous pneumothorax.
Methods: In this retrospective study, patients who underwent surgery for secondary spontaneous pneumothorax were reviewed.

Azygos lobe is an uncommon anatomic variant that is widely recognized, but rarely associated with pneumothorax. We present a successful surgical management of a spontaneous pneumothorax resulting from rupture of a bulla in an incidentally discovered azygos lobe. The patient is a 73-year-old man who presented with the first-time occurrence of a spontaneous right pneumothorax.

Small-bore feeding tubes (SBFT) in vulnerable patients carry a risk of iatrogenic pneumothorax by misplacement into the lung. This institution noted a series of iatrogenic pneumothoraxes caused by the placement of these devices.
