Cavernous malformations are vascular lesions that occur in all parts of the central nervous system but most commonly in the cerebral hemispheres; unusually they may be found along the midline (basal ganglia, pineal region or brain stem), into the ventricle possibly encroaching upon the fourth and third ventricle. We report a case of midline cavernomas of the IV ventricle, that grew to large size in-time, demonstrating the capacity for rapid expansion.

G-quadruplex (G4) structure is a nucleic acid secondary structure formed by guanine-rich sequences, playing essential roles in various biological processes such as gene regulation and environmental stress adaptation. Although prokaryotes growing at high temperatures have higher GC contents, the pattern of G4 structure associated with GC content variation in thermal adaptation remains elusive. This study analyzed 681 bacterial genomes to explore the role of G4 structures in thermal adaptation.

Purpose Of Review: Antimicrobial resistance is an escalating public health threat in Africa, and an awareness of the devastating impact on children is growing. This review highlights the prevalence and patterns of antimicrobial resistance among children in Africa, focusing on pathogens responsible for bloodstream infections, community-acquired pneumonia, bacterial meningitis, neonatal infections, diarrhea and malaria. Current strategies to tackle antimicrobial resistance in pediatric populations are discussed.

The integration of genotypic and environmental data can enhance the prediction accuracy of field traits of crops. The existing genomic prediction methods fail to consider the environmental factors and do not consider the real growing environment of crops, resulting in low genomic prediction accuracy. In this work, we propose a genotype-environment interaction genomic prediction method in maize, called GEFormer, based on integrating the gating mechanism MLP and linear attention mechanism.
